(EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- New Jersey’s premier Spanish & Flamenco dance company, the critically acclaimed Alborada Spanish Dance Theatre, kicks off Hispanic Heritage Month at Playhouse 22 in East Brunswick, NJ on Sunday, September 17 at 2:00pm for a Middlesex County Hispanic Heritage Event with its exciting new production, Zapateo! (Footwork Dialogues with Flamenco, Tap, Mexican Dance).
Alborada brings together on stage three great percussive dance genres: Flamenco, Tap, and Mexican Dance, in its exciting new program featuring footwork dialogues. Alborada’s Flamenco dancers and musicians, joined by guest artists: Tap Dancer, Jaye Allison and Mexican Dancer, Maria Tylek will dazzle audiences of all ages with pounding feet, strumming guitars, flying ruffles, clicking castanets and fabulous traditional costumes. From the 1930s NYC tap dance of the famous Silver Belles to traditional dances from Jalisco, Mexico and the soulful and joyous Spanish Gypsy Flamenco Dances, Zapateo will leave the audience tapping their feet and clapping their hands in rhythm!
