Amuse + Anti Social Camp Announce Participating Artist For Songwriting Camp's 2023 Edition

originally published: 05/17/2023

(NEW YORK, NY) -- Amuse and Anti Social Camp have announced participating artists for the third annual event set to take place in New York City, June 12-15 with over 150 songwriters, and producers from Andy Grammer, Moby, Walk The Moon, Mike Shinoda, Grace VanderWaal, X Ambassadors, and Cautious Clay celebrating the art of collaboration. The weeklong event is the biggest songwriting camp in the world and is completely free for its participants. Dubbed a “SXSW for Songwriters,” the camp features 100 recording sessions, plus a packed calendar of shows and parties celebrating New York City.

Additional participating artists include Kota The Friend, Tenille Arts, Alex Tumay, Thutmose, Wolftyla, MICHELLE, Marian Hill, Ant Saunders, CID, Pom Pom Squad, Zach Hood, Fresco Trey, AJ Mitchell, Poutyface, Calabasas, Two Feet, Nombe, Tim Atlas, Chandler Leighton, Heather Sommer, AJ Smith, New Rules, Sky Katz, hit songwriters Sam Hollander (Panic! At The Disco) and Swagg (H.E.R.). Anti Social Camp alumni include Nile Rodgers, JP Saxe, Rostam of Vampire Weekend, Rob Thomas, Madison McFerrin, Linda Perry, and many more.

A songwriting camp is a gathering of artists, songwriters, and music producers with the purpose of creating new hit records offsite in a limited timeframe. When most people think of songwriting camps in today’s music industry, they think of major labels sending 10 writers to a castle in the south of France. Anti Social Camp is the first front-facing global festival with 150 creators to celebrate the art of collaboration. This year, select songs will be chosen for the first Anti Social Camp compilation album to be distributed exclusively through presenting partner, Amuse.

Anti Social Camp has the mission of reinvigorating the NYC music scene, as New York has seen much of its music community disperse to destinations like Los Angeles, Nashville, and Austin over the last decade.

“This generation knows that the magic happens when great artists, songwriters and producers work together to make iconic records,” said Danny Ross, Founder of Anti Social Camp and BerkleeNYC Professor. “From Lou Reed to Jay-Z, New York continues to be a breeding ground for global movements in music. Anti Social Camp is a vehicle to remind the music industry of New York’s legacy, and the significant pool of talent here ready to change the game.”

“WALK THE MOON has always experienced New York as a thrilling place — since all the way back when we’d play legendary little clubs like Pianos and Arlene’s Grocery,” said Nicholas Petricca, lead singer of WALK THE MOON. “So naturally I’m thrilled to come back through the city on a creative expedition to make some magic again with Anti Social Camp.”

“I am basically a songwriting junkie,” said artist Andy Grammar. “Everything in my life comes back to lyrics and melodies and how they can be little spiritual chiropractors that realign us.”

“I am so excited to be a part of this year’s Anti Social Camp alongside so many of my peers,” said artist Grace VanderWaal. “To be a part of the biggest songwriting camp in the world in a city I am so massively inspired by is such a dream come true and I cannot wait to collaborate with everyone.”

“I moved back to NYC because my experience in Atlanta taught me how quickly a scene can grow with the right people,” said producer Alex Tumay of Do What Sounds Good Inc. ”Glad there are organizations like Anti Social Camp that care about keeping the NYC scene alive.”

“NYC is one of the most incredible cities in the world, and I couldn’t think of a better place to have Anti Social Camp,” said hit country artist Tenille Arts. “Many of my dreams growing up had NYC in them. Hoping to create amazing music, meet talented collaborators and see some fans along the way too.”

“Writing music is my passion, so being a part of the world’s biggest writing camp in my hometown of NYC is a blessing,” said hit hip-hop artist Kota the Friend.

The 2023 Anti Social Camp itinerary and partner list are forthcoming.
