(MANAHAWKIN, NJ) -- Brick Children's Community Theatre (BCCT) is having audiences singing loud for all to hear this holiday season with Elf Jr., the musical adaptation of the classic Christmas film December 2, 3 and 4 at the Stafford Township Arts Center.  Photographer John Posada was on hand to take photos.

The entire family will get into the Christmas spirit when Buddy, a young orphan, mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. Raised as an elf, Buddy is unaware that he is actually a human, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa's permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh reality that his father is on the naughty list and that his half-brother doesn't even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas.

See the story of Buddy the Elf unfold, under the Direction of Heather Campagno, with a cast of interesting characters artfully depicted by talented BCCT actors. The cast features Chase Haffner as Buddy, Ava Buray as Jovie, Gavin Powers as Walter Hobbs, Regina Messenger as Emily Hobbs, Domenic Innarella as Michael and Craig Fitzgerald as Santa.

Come enjoy this entertaining and exciting musical with the entire family. There are three performances at Friday at 7:30pm and two matinee shows on Saturday and Sunday at 2:00pm. 

Ticket prices are $16 for all, plus a $1.50 service fee per ticket. All attendees need a ticket regardless of age. No strollers or carriages will be allowed inside the theater. This is a one-act musical with a running time under 90 minutes, with no intermission. Tickets are available for purchase online.

The Stafford Township Arts Center is located at 1000 McKinley Avenue in Manahawkin, New Jersey.

BCCT strives to be the best community theatre by enriching, entertaining and educating our communities through outstanding theatrical experiences featuring youth actors. Founded in 1992, BCCT was started by a mother-daughter team who shared their love of theatre with the children of Ocean and Monmouth counties. BCCT has grown into one of the most beloved theatres group in the area.

New Jersey Theatre Alliance to Hold the 2025 Combined Auditions March 24-25

(HILLSIDE, NJ) -- New Jersey Theatre Alliance (NJTA), the service organization for the state and region’s 42 professional theatres, will hold auditions in Enlow Recital Hall on the campus of Kean University in Hillside, NJ on Monday, March 24, 2025 from 10:00am-5:00pm for Equity performers, and Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 10:00am-5:00pm for Non-Equity performers. This is a fantastic opportunity to be seen by multiple theatres at once. Representatives from their member theatres will follow up with actors directly if they are interested in working with them.

American Theater Group presents "Purlie" Post-Performance Talkback on Friday

(RAHWAY, NJ) -- American Theater Group (ATG) will present a Talkback session entitled "The Origins of Purlie" following the Fri. March 7, 2025 at 7:00pm performance of Purlie at Hamilton Stage in Rahway. Purlie is the musical version of the play Purlie Victorious and was written by Ossie Davis, Philip Rose and Peter Udell with music by Gary Geld. Hasna Muhammad, daughter of Ossie Davis, is expected to participate in the Talkback, along with members of the cast and creative team. All are welcome to attend.

(KEARNY, NJ) -- The West Hudson Arts & Theater Company (WHATCo) annual murder mystery dinner theater experience returns with the original production of Class of 2005: A Killer Reunion, once again written by award-winning local playwright and author Allyssa Hynes. This year performances of this annual WHATCo fundraiser are Friday & Saturday, March 28 and 29 at the American Legion Post 99 (314 Belgrove Drive) in Kearny.
