Khy's Cabaret returns to Playhouse 22 with shows on October 7-8

originally published: 10/02/2022

(EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- Featuring a collection of songs from theater and operettas, Playhouse 22 is bringing back its very popular Khy’s Cabaret for one weekend only in an intimate cabaret-like setting one would find in Manhattan. Performances are October 7 and 8 with both shows starting at 8:00pm.

Khy Garner, a Woodbridge-based music educator and instructor, serves the director and musical director and the cast includes Mr. Garner, Kirk Jasen Lambert, Elio Edward Lleo, Jess Peirce, Christian Šebek, Alissa Valiante, Caroline Voyack and Lindsay Wood.

Many of the performers have had professional experience on stages around the world including the David Geffen Hall with the New York Philharmonic, on Broadway in “The Phantom of the Opera”, and Carnegie Hall as well as had success in local and regional theater across the state.

Last fall, Khy’s Cabaret came to Playhouse 22 and is now part of the regular programs and events offered by Playhouse 22 with another planned for January.

Performances are October 7 and 8 with both shows starting at 8 p.m.  Tickets are $15 and must be purchased in advance at Playhouse22.org or by phone at 732-254-3939.  The performances will not be staged in the Elliott Taubenslag Theater, but in the Studio Theater at the East Brunswick Community Arts Center, 721 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick.  There are no assigned seats.  Playhouse 22 is a non-profit, volunteer-driven theater with more than 60 years of experience.
