Mayor Reiman Helps Central Jersey Medical Center Break Ground at New Carteret Satellite Facility

originally published: 06/15/2022

(CARTERET, NJ) --  Mayor Daniel J. Reiman joined with Central Jersey Medical Center (formerly Jewish Renaissance Medical Center) CEO Jack O’Leary on June 14, 2022 to break ground at the site of the non-profit healthcare provider’s future satellite facility in Carteret at 1540 Roosevelt Avenue.

“The underserved population in northern Middlesex County will soon be offered premier medical treatment at little to no cost, thanks to the CJMC choosing to construct this brand new facility in our community,” said Mayor Reiman. “CJMC’s commitment to senior citizens and the underprivileged is unrivaled and their expansion into Carteret displays their desire to help as many in our region as possible.” CJMC is a nationally recognized, federally qualified healthcare facility.

The two-story 6,000-square-foot satellite location will provide primary medical care and dental services to the residents of Carteret along with specialty services, such as endocrinology, pediatrics, and women’s healthcare that features 3-D mammography, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology. JRMC sees 90,000 encounters each year and provides high-quality, evidence-based healthcare services to all patients who walk through its doors, regardless of economic circumstances. Carteret residents who currently travel to Perth Amboy for services will soon have the opportunity to receive their medical and dental care at a new Carteret location.

JRMC consistently engages in community outreach activities that improve healthcare access within our region. JRMC is committed to responsible stewardship of all resources, and proudly builds strategic partnerships that support our mission.

“Thanks to Mayor Reiman’s desire to consistently improve the lives of Carteret’s residents, our organization will soon call the Borough home,” said CJMC CEO Jack O’Leary. “We look forward to providing the best of care for Carteret’s underserved residents and for patients throughout the surrounding region.”

CJMC provides comprehensive primary care for all age groups, as well as mental, substance abuse and dental health services. CJMC even helps patients secure temporary insurance and assistance in applying to help pay for services.

CJMC is a fully qualified healthcare provider which received government reimbursements under Medicare and Medicaid. They qualify for federal funding through Section 330 of the Public Health Service Act.

According to their website, the CJMC strives to improve the health and quality of life for their patients, as they empower them to make health choices by delivering quality, community-based primary care services in culturally sensitive manner with integrity and respect for their patients; by providing education, resources, and support in areas of preventive care, personal health management, and health insurance; by offering health programs and screenings tailored to the specific medical concerns of the community; and by ensuring that services are affordable, accessible and comprehensive so that all who seek medical care here can find it with dignity.

“Today, many of the larger medical groups refuse to accept Medicare/Medicaid,” said Mayor Reiman. “Those who are older and the most vulnerable need the same medical services as the rest of us. CJMC’s commitment here will make that happen.”
