The Academy Players bring "The Addams Family" to Axelrod PAC


(DEAL PARK, NJ) -- The Academy Players will debut their second musical, The Addams Family, at the Axelrod Performing Arts Center in Ocean Township, for two weekends, May 7-15, 2022. The Academy Players are the Musical Theater students of the Axelrod Performing Arts Academy (APAA) located at Bell Works in Holmdel. 
Monmouth County Park System presents "Camelot, the Musical"


(LINCROFT, NJ) -- The Monmouth County Park System presents Camelot, the Musical, produced by Mickey and Judy Productions, in the Thompson Park Theater Barn in Lincroft, across two weekends (May 13-14 and May 20-21). In this classic musical, based on T.H. White’s The Once and Future King, King Arthur founds the kingdom of Camelot and the Knights of the Round Table, who fight for justice and right, only to see his ideal crumble when his wife Guinevere falls in love with his favorite knight, Sir Lancelot.

New Jersey Symphony presents "The Sound of Stories" family concert with Nimbus Dance

Four Chord Music Festival returns in September


(WASHINGTON, PA) -- Four Chord Music Festival returns for its eighth installment of the independently produced festival bigger and better than ever before. For the first time since its inception, the Four Chord Music Festival will be expanding to a two-day festival on September 9th and 10th and will feature a multitude of bands, including headliners All Time Low, Bad Religion, Descendents, and Jimmy Eat World, plus additional performances from Pennywise, The Story So Far, Silverstein, Lagwagon, The Starting Line, The Maine and many more. The festival will take place at Wild Things Park, in Washington, PA, just a short 30 minutes outside of Pittsburgh, and is presented by Four Chord Music & Drusky Entertainment.
Eighth Blackbird, an Award-Winning Ensemble, to Perform With Rowan University Wind Ensemble


It’s not often that college students get to perform on stage with an award-winning sextet, but the members of Rowan University’s Wind Ensemble are getting that opportunity.  They will be performing with Eighth Blackbird, a four-time Grammy winner for Best Small Ensemble/Chamber Music Performance, on Friday, April 29, 2022 at 8:00 pm in Rowan’s Pfleeger Concert Hall.
Middletown Arts Center presents a Singer-Songwriter Showcase on Sunday


(MIDDLETOWN, NJ) -- The Middletown Arts Center presents a singer-songwriter showcase on Sunday, April 24 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. The event features performances by Carl Alderson, Michael Askin, Shotgun Bill Anania and Tommy Q. The concert will take place in the MAC’s theater. The event is free with a suggested donation of $5.
Billy Joel adds 84th Monthly Show at MSG


(NEW YORK, NY) -- Billy Joel has added another show as part of his record-breaking residency at Madison Square Garden. He'll be back at the World's Most Famous Arena on Sunday, October 9, 2022. The October show will mark Joel's 84th monthly and 130th lifetime show at The Garden.
PBS-TV Star Chris Ruggiero Comes to Brook Arts Center for One Night Only


(BOUND BROOK, NJ) -- Brook Arts Center welcomes singer Chris Ruggiero, who will present his vintage rock and roll concert, “Silly Love Songs,” on Friday, May 20th. It will be the 22-year-old singer’s first full-length concert appearance in Somerset County since he rose to national fame following his PBS Television appearance. Ruggiero has been crisscrossing the country and has already notched 14 states on his tour so far this season. Brook Arts Center is excited to bring Chris Ruggiero to the stage for an evening of pop-rock standards as you’ve never heard them before.

PODCAST: Roxey Ballet and Artist Malcolm Mobutu Smith Join Creative Forces at the Hunterdon Art Museum


This Saturday at the Hunterdon Art Museum, visitors are invited to a unique experience that brings together the visual and performing arts. Roxey Ballet Company has teamed up with artist Malcolm Mobutu Smith – whose exhibition Evermore Nevermore closes this weekend – and have created an exclusive 45-minute showcase that will be presented outdoors on the Toshiko Takaezu Terrace, overlooking the museum’s iconic view of the Raritan River. Ansel Adams Photography Exhibition at Kean University


(UNION, NJ) -- Works by the iconic 20th-century landscape photographer Ansel Adams will be on display at the Galleries at Kean University in an exhibition at Liberty Hall Academic Center.  The Early Works exhibition features 42 original vintage photographs by the master photographer of the American West, ranging from the 1920s to the 1950s. It is open to the public with a pay-what-you-wish (PWYW) admission now through June 17, 2022.

Middlesex County forges forward with regional strategy as Edison Township is added to its emergency radio system


(EDISON, NJ) --  In keeping with an ongoing strategy to offer regional solutions, Middlesex County and the Township of Edison have announced the addition of Edison to its emergency radio system. Participating in this County-wide service will save Edison millions of dollars each year and ensure greater efficiencies in communicating emergencies. This arrangement will provide access to a state-of-the-art radio system that enables Edison to maintain communications with County agencies and other municipalities in Middlesex County that are also on this network.

New Jersey Theatre Alliance to Hold the 2025 Combined Auditions March 24-25

(HILLSIDE, NJ) -- New Jersey Theatre Alliance (NJTA), the service organization for the state and region’s 42 professional theatres, will hold auditions in Enlow Recital Hall on the campus of Kean University in Hillside, NJ on Monday, March 24, 2025 from 10:00am-5:00pm for Equity performers, and Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 10:00am-5:00pm for Non-Equity performers. This is a fantastic opportunity to be seen by multiple theatres at once. Representatives from their member theatres will follow up with actors directly if they are interested in working with them.

American Theater Group presents "Purlie" Post-Performance Talkback on Friday

(RAHWAY, NJ) -- American Theater Group (ATG) will present a Talkback session entitled "The Origins of Purlie" following the Fri. March 7, 2025 at 7:00pm performance of Purlie at Hamilton Stage in Rahway. Purlie is the musical version of the play Purlie Victorious and was written by Ossie Davis, Philip Rose and Peter Udell with music by Gary Geld. Hasna Muhammad, daughter of Ossie Davis, is expected to participate in the Talkback, along with members of the cast and creative team. All are welcome to attend.

An Interactive Celebration of Music and Art at Axelrod Performing Art Center

(DEAL PARK, NJ) -- The Gallery on Grant, located inside the Axelrod Performing Arts Center in Deal Park, will present an art exhibit entitled "Sounds." This exhibit mirrors Axelrod's upcoming performances of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical and Rock of Ages, in which the themes of love and music intertwine. It highlights six artists, all showcasing their interpretation of music. The exhibit runs from March 14 through August 2025.
