(LAVALLETTE, NJ) -- The Ocean County Library Upper Shores Branch will present Seascapes & Ocean Life, watercolor and acrylic paintings by local artist Joan Tozzi Ablahani, throughout the month of May. Ms. Ablahani depicts the grandeur of ocean waves, beach scenes, seascapes, marine life, and landscapes in impressionistic realism. She creates large and miniature canvasses, many of which are reproduced as note cards.
After retiring from a distinguished career as a middle school art teacher in Parsippany and Hillsborough, Ms. Ablahani began teaching design, color and painting techniques to adults in Ocean and Morris Counties.
“I have always painted, and taught students to reach their full artistic potential,” she observed, “but when I retired, I immersed myself in my own passion for painting, and have never been happier or more fulfilled.”
The free, month-long exhibit will be open to the public at the Upper Shores Branch, 112 Jersey City Avenue. For more details, visit www.theoceancountylibrary.org/events or call 732-793-3996.
