Laura Ekstrand Talks About "Life's Work"


Every intimate relationship is based on a web of understanding, whether implicit or explicit. In the new comic drama, Life’s Work by Laura Ekstrand, two couples discover what happens when their agreements around work and money shift and evolve. Vivid Stage presents the World Premiere of this play across two weekends (April 21-24 and April 28 - May 1). The cast includes Nicole Callender, Mitchell Leigh Gordon, Scott McGowan, and Emaline Williams. Betsy True directs the production.
Centenary Stage Company's 2022 Women Playwrights Series continues with "The Buddha's Wife"


(HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) -- Centenary Stage Company’s Women Playwrights Series continues Wednesday, April 20 with a reading of The Buddha’s Wife by Mary Poindexter McLaughlin at 7:30pm in the Sitnik Theatre of the Lackland Performing Arts Center at 715 Grand Avenue, Hackettstown, NJ on the campus of Centenary University. Are they so different?  2500 years disappear as the lives of the Princess Yasodhara and PhD Candidate Diane Brewster interweave seamlessly, telling a timeless story of romantic love, of motherhood, and of dreams-on-hold, revealing the very real world of challenges and choices women face throughout time, alongside revelations of the deeper meaning of love and friendship.  
The Acting Company presents a reading of "Sam's Coming" by Kia Corthron


(NEW YORK, NY) -- The Acting Company has announced the return of The Louanna O. Carlin & John MacDonald Reading Series with Kia Corthron’s Sam’s Coming, which will receive a public reading on Monday, April 18 at 7:30pm at The Mainstage Theater (416 West 42nd Street). A reception will follow the reading.
Passage Theatre Company Presents "Group!" - A World Premiere Musical


(TRENTON, NJ) -- Passage Theatre Company will present the world premiere of the new musical Group! from May 5-22 at the Mill Hill Playhouse in Trenton. The musical explores the lives of six women who meet during  therapy sessions.  The show, with lyrics by Eloise Govedare, music by Aleksandra M. Weil, and a book by Julia B. Rosenblatt, examines moments of fear, celebration, and everything in between as these women grapple with their mental health in the face of sobriety.

NJPAC's Arts Education Summer Camp offers free Jazz and Poetry Program at Rutgers-Newark Campus

The award-winning arts education Summer Camp introduces NJPAC’s Colton Institute for Training and Research in the Arts. The 2022 Boston Calling Festival Takes Place May 27-29


(BOSTON, MA) -- Boston Calling, the acclaimed three-day festival making its triumphant return to Allston, MA this Memorial Day Weekend, May 27 - 29, 2022, will have Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees and GRAMMY Award winners Nine Inch Nails as a headliner of the 2022 festival. Making their return to the road for the first time in four years, Nine Inch Nails will close out the first night of the festival on Friday, May 27th. The festival will be headlined on Saturday, May 28th and Sunday, May 29th by alternative rockers, The Strokes, and rock & roll icons, Metallica, respectively.

Violinist Stefan Jackiw to Appear with Maestro Rossen Milanov and the Princeton Symphony Orchestra


(PRINCETON, NJ) -- On Saturday, May 7 at 8:00pm and Sunday, May 8 at 4:00pm, the Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) presents its Milanov & Jackiw concert featuring violin virtuoso Stefan Jackiw. Jackiw performs Erich Wolfgang Korngold's lush Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 35 on a program with Gabriela Lena Frank's Elega Andina and Felix Mendelssohn's "Scottish" Symphony No. 3 in A Minor, Op. 56. Edward T. Cone Music Director Rossen Milanov conducts both concerts at Richardson Auditorium in Alexander Hall, on the campus of Princeton University.

Mercer County Community College's JKC Gallery presents "Being and There" - Early Work by Joseph Lawton


(TRENTON, NJ) -- Mercer County Community College’s James Kerney Campus Gallery (JKCG) will presents a photography exhibit entitled “Being and There” April 11 through May 13, 2022 – a traveling exhibit featuring the work of New York-based photographer Joseph Lawton.  "Being and There" features early black and white photography from Lawton’s extensive travels circa 1983 to 1994.

Ocean State Job Lot Partners with Customers, Suppliers, and Relief Organizations to Provide Supplies to Ukraine


(NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI) -- Ocean State Job Lot's “Relief for Ukraine” program has resulted in the donation to date of six tractor trailer loads of health and hygiene products, nutritious food, and warm clothing, as well as frontline medical supplies to Ukrainian refugee efforts. The desperately needed medical supplies were supplied in partnership with Partners for World Health, based in Portland, ME.
Newark Symphony Hall Hosted 15th Annual Ms. Philippines Pageant, Its First In-Person Event of the Year
