(WEST ORANGE, NJ) — Pleasant Valley Productions presents Kinky Boots across two weekends (July 14-15 and July 20-22) at the Oskar Schindler Performing Arts Center (OSPAC). Kinky Boots is the big-hearted musical extravaganza that won six Tonys including Best Musical, the Grammy for Best Musical Theatre album and London's Olivier Award for Best Musical. (MIDDLETOWN, NJ) -- The MAC Players at the Middletown Arts Center make a splash this summer with The SpongeBob Musical, a stunning, all-singing, all-dancing, dynamic stage show running over two weekends, July 14–16 and July 21–23. When the citizens of Bikini Bottom discover that a volcano will soon erupt and destroy their humble home, SpongeBob and his friends must come together to save the fate of their undersea world. A delight for audiences young and old, The SpongeBob Musical is based on the beloved animated series created by Stephen Hillenburg and a book by Kyle Jarrow.

Join Maria, Captain Von Trapp and his children in one of the most beloved musicals of all time, The Sound of Music. This classic has enchanted audiences for more than 50 years, featuring a trove of cherished songs, including "Climb Ev'ry Mountain," "My Favorite Things," "Do Re Mi," "Sixteen Going on Seventeen." The Sound of Music has won the hearts of audiences worldwide, earning five Tony Awards and five Oscars.

Algonquin Arts Theatre presents "Avenue Q"

(MANASQUAN, NJ) -- Algonquin Arts Theatre presents the musical, Avenue Q from August 12-20, 2023. Winner of the Tony Triple Crown for Best Musical, Best Score, and Best Book, this laugh-out-loud musical - featuring actors and puppets - tells the story of a recent college grad named Princeton, who moves into a shabby New York apartment on Avenue Q. He soon discovers that, although the residents seem nice, it's clear that this is not your ordinary neighborhood, which is a racy, adults-only cross between South Park and Sesame Street.

Premiere Stages Launches "Satellites"

"Satellites" will make its world premiere this July at the aptly named Premiere Stages at Kean University. Having previously won the 2022 Premiere Play Festival, the show penned by Erin Breznitsky will celebrate its first full stage production under the direction of Premiere Stages' Artistic Director, John J. The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey presents "And A Nightingale Sang..."

(MADISON, NJ) -- The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey (STNJ) continues its main stage season with C.P. Taylor's And a Nightingale Sang... from July 12-30, 2023. This endearing play about a working-class family in England during the Blitz of WWII is, at turns, hilarious, romantic, moving, and inspiring; a celebration of life in the midst of the destructive forces wreaking havoc in the world.

EVENT PREVIEWS

(MAPLEWOOD, NJ) -- The Maplewood Strollers are holding auditions for The Colored Museum by George C. Wolfe on Monday, January 13 and Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at the Burgdorff Center. Auditions will take place from 7:00pm to 10:00pm both nights. Callbacks will take place on Wednesday, January 15th at 7:00pm. The production will be Directed by Victoria Lauture Duncker with Musical Direction by Ebony Wiggins.
