OCVTS Grunin Performing Arts Academy presents "Macbeth"

Saturday, November 20, 2021 @ 7:00pm

Grunin Center
1 College Drive, Toms River, NJ 08754

The OCVTS Grunin Performing Arts Academy is a full-time high school specializing in the majors of Dance, Vocal, Audio, and Acting. Each year, their students perform at a professional level in a Fall Drama, specifically curated by the staff to enhance the experience for their young artists-in-training.

Please join them as they present William Shakespeare’s The Tragedy of Macbeth. Director Anthony Ciccotelli brings his unique vision to life, setting this timeless show and all its’ mayhem in a modern era of gangs and guns.

Macbeth is the classic tale of unchecked ambition and all its perils. This violent tragedy, based primarily in Scotland, begins with three witches revealing to Macbeth that he will one day be the King of Scotland. Armed with this information, and encouragement from his wife, Macbeth begins to kill out of both desire and paranoia. Macbeth’s murder spree ultimately leads to civil-war, chaos, death, and bloodshed. Filled with witches spells, prophesies, overthrown kings, murder, and betrayal, Macbeth is sure to delight audiences.
