Running To Stand Still – Migrants Search For Hope In The Promised Land, is a documentary film about the humanitarian crisis on the U.S. / Mexico border. Running seeks to put a human face on the immigration “issue” by telling heartbreaking and inspiring stories about the migrants themselves—courageous and dignified human beings whose lives stand as a powerful rebuke to a narrative that is fraught with hatred, alarmist rhetoric, and dehumanizing stereotypes.
The event will begin with Sarah Towle author of: Crossing the Line: Finding America in the Borderlands, setting the stage for Worldwide Documentaries Oscar-nominated Director, Robert Bilheimer to introduce the East-coast premiere of Running to Stand Still: Migrants Search for Hope in the Promised Land. Following the screening, Ms. Towle will moderate an informative and enlightening panel discussion with esteemed guests featured in both the film and the book, as well as local allies in immigrant justice. This event will delve into the complexities of the experiences of forcibly displaced persons not only on the US/ Mexico border but all over the world, family separations, and border issues in the context of our current political climate, especially following the 2024 Presidential election.
