EVERYDAY PEOPLE authentically represent a nostalgic look at the 70’s, in particular the music of Sly Stone or Sylvester Stewart and his band, Sly and The Family Stone. Sly’s band and music was innovatively unique, one might say ahead of its time. Today, you can still hear the influences Sly’s music later artists such as: Miles Davis, Prince, George Clinton, Earth Wind and Fire, Rick James and Bruno Mars, just to name a few.Â
EVERYDAY PEOPLE will take you back in both sight and sound, so you can relive the genius of Sly’s music. Performing songs like: "Stand", "Take You Higher", "Everybody is a Star", "Family Affair", "Dance to The Music" and many more. Even today, there are some who still hold the opinion that Sly and the Family Stone was the greatest band ever assembled.​

(NEWARK, NJ) -- Clinton Hill Community Action (CHCA), in partnership with the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), present the second annual Jazz in the Streets event on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the Clinton Avenue Sound Stage as part of CHCA and NJPAC's collaborative ArtsXChange series. The event runs from 6:00pm to 9:00pm and features Vocalist Carrie Jackson, who hails from the South Ward and is a Weequahic High School grad and will delight with her genre-bending style that includes jazz classics, blues, pop and some surprising renditions that are uniquely her own.

Produced by Live Nation, the 40-city tour comes to the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 and the Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena in Atlantic City on Saturday, September 28, 2024. Both shows include supporting acts 3 Doors Down and Finger Eleven.
