About the Slambovian Circus of Dreams:
Explore the depths of Americana ‘one trippy tune at a time’ with New York’s Slambovian Circus of Dreams. Voted Chronogram Magazine’s "Best Band of 2022" for their rootsy rockin' psychedelia, the Slambovians' deep connection with audiences and exciting live shows are legendary. Dylan, Bowie, Incredible String Band, Syd Barrett and The Waterboys may flavor the musical mix, but the Slambovians' musicianship and songwriting stand on its own.
With vocals "soothing and bewitching as a snake oil tonic" the resident shaman of Slambovia, lead singer Joziah Longo, is joined onstage by bandmates Tink Lloyd (accordion, cello, mandolin, flute) and the brilliant guitar-slinging and mandolin-playing skills of Sharkey McEwen. Experience the creative engine behind the band in this intimate trio performance. Hear rarely performed songs from their deep catalog, their current album, and more.
The band’s latest studio release, “A Very Unusual Head” is considered to be "their finest work to date." - Rock’n’Reel Magazine, UK. Anthony Thistlethwaite is featured on the album, as well as singer-songwriter Dar Williams, who also covers the Slambovians’ “Sullivan Lane” on her new album. “I’ll Meet You Here.”
About The Kennedys:
The Kennedys, husband-and-wife Pete & Maura Kennedy, began their professional and personal partnership as touring members of Nanci Griffith’s Blue Moon Orchestra back in 1992. They released their debut album, River of Fallen Stars in 1995, and followed it in subsequent years with 15 critically acclaimed albums. Their upcoming CD, “Headwinds,” slated for late August 2023, will be their first studio album of all new, original songs in five years.
In 2022, the duo released Soul & Inspiration: Nuggets from the Livestream Archive, Volume 1, a best-of collection of live performances they selected from three years of pandemic-era online concerts.
As grateful as they’ve have been for the invigorating communal experience of their livestream shows, as dedicated road warriors they’re relieved to once again pack their guitars and good vibes and get back to festivals and venues again. Their brand of optimism, presented with ringing guitars and soaring harmonies, always leave their audiences feeling uplifted.
