THEO PEOPLES
If you’ve ever heard Theo Peoples’ voice, then you are well aware that it wouldn’t be an overstatement to list him among the great bonafide soul singers of our time! For nearly two decades, Theo Peoples’ legendary voice has been critical to the legacy of not just one, but two of Motown’s greatest vocal groups — The Temptations and the Four Tops! His time with both groups has sharpened his own artistry as both a songwriter and performer.
During his six year tenure with the Temptations, Theo recorded on two albums: For Lover’s Only and platinum Grammy-winning album, Phoenix Rising. Theo seized the spotlight with a flawless performance of the classic “Night and Day” (which is also on the soundtrack of the hit movie “What Women Want” starring Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt). He stood up and delivered on the hit single “Stay” as well as penned the devotional composition “This Is My Promise.”
Having made his national debut as a Temptation, earning the reputation as “The Voice,” Theo was called on by yet another legendary group, the Four Tops, following the 1997 death of original member, Lawrence Payton. After making the history-making decision to accept that personal invitation, Theo continued twelve plus years touring with the Four Tops. He has managed to leave a stamp on their legacy, paying brilliant homage to Levi Stubbs while reimagining those classic Four Tops’ songs with his own indelible vocal style. He has shared the stage and the studio with legends, holding his own with the likes of Aretha Franklin, Bill Medley, Martha Reeves, and The Pointer Sisters, just to name a few! Theo has earned the singular honor of being the only man to be a member of both The Temptations and The Four Tops!
What can fans expect from a live experience with Theo? Loving homage to his Motown roots mixed in with his own unique take on smooth balladry from Classic Standards to Rhythm & Blues — the concert “THEO” fans and FUTURE fans have been waiting for… a spectacle that won’t disappoint! Make an effort, a time, a date to enjoy a talent that is truly achieved singular accomplishment………………….THEO “The Voice”!
