About Cynthia Sayer’s Joyride
Join multi-award winning artist Cynthia Sayer & Her Joyride Quartet for an afternoon of hot jazz, swing, and more!
Instrumentalist/vocalist/bandleader Cynthia Sayer is acclaimed by musicians, critics, and fans alike as the top 4-string banjoist in the world today. Praised for her “drive and virtuosity” by The New York Times, Cynthia tours extensively with her bands and as a guest artist across four continents.
An inductee into the American Banjo Hall Of Fame and headliner at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Sayer is the first 4-string banjoist to appear on the cover of the Musician Union’s official publication, International Musician Magazine, the first banjoist to win the Bistro Award and the Global Music Awards, and in the first 4-string jazz banjoist to be a featured artist at the iconic Newport Jazz Festival.
Cynthia will be joined by her all-star band members Jim Fryer (trombone and vocals), Jen Hodge (string bass), and Larry Eagle (drums).
Be sure to catch this Scotch Plains, NJ, native for this rare appearance in her home state.
