(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- Noah Vonne is fire. She is the kind of fire that can belt a blues rocker with the detached power of youthful confidence and the heart-on-the-sleeve pathos of mature adulthood. Her explosive songs sound like spiked mixtures of old-school melodies and riffs coupled with modern-day slices of alt-rock coolness and psychedelic sonic swirls. Her musical passion is lit from the inside out.
Texas-born Vonne, now based in West Hollywood, California, fits right alongside powder-keg female rock singers Janis Joplin, Pat Benatar, Melissa Etheridge, and Alanis Morrissette. In fact, one listen to her debut album, 2022’s We Weren’t Sober, which she recorded with multi-platinum musician, writer, and producer Jimmy Messer, and you will immediately sink your teeth into the intoxicating blend of scratchy guitars and slithering bass and drums that surround her gritty, potent pipes.
Vonne kicks off the latter part of 2023 with a new single and video, the groove-heavy rocker “To Do’s,” a song she wrote in Los Angeles with Cameron Olsen from alt-rock band Weathers. The new track propels Vonne’s Fall 2023 national co-headlining tour with psychedelic rock band Bluphoria. Catch her onstage Friday, November 10th at 7:00pm at Wonder Bar, 1213 Ocean Avenue in Asbury Park, New Jersey. Tickets are $13; 21 & over. For tickets, please click HERE.
It's been a journey for Vonne performing in front of audiences. About five years ago, after she had been honing her songwriting and live performance skills, Vonne decided to conquer her stage anxiety head on. Well actually, she did it on the high seas. Vonne took a 7-month music contract with Celebrity Cruises ship, Edge.
That on-the-job training proved quite beneficial. By 2019, Vonne had embarked on her first touring experience as a solo artist, opening for Shawn James’ national tour, “The Dark & The Light.” A mere three years later, Vonne snagged three high-profile gigs – a performance at the iconic Whisky A Go Go, a sold-out show at the famed Troubadour, and an opening slot on folk-rocker KT Tunstall’s tour. By the Fall of 2022, she embarked on her first national headlining tour dubbed “Little Escape.”
None of this is surprising at all given that it was obvious Vonne was destined to feed her musical passion. She was a mere 11-year-old when she stepped into a recording studio for the first time after already having spent some time performing in church. She soon began writing songs, and as a young adult pursued a Music Business degree at Belmont University in Nashville. Studying for Vonne included plenty of hours honing her songwriting and live performance prowess.
Today, Vonne is all about pouring grit and honesty into her music, both on disc and in concert. Her live shows thrive on belting vocals and rock ‘n’ roll edge.
