(RED BANK, NJ) -- Grammy® nominated, platinum-selling artist, Five For Fighting (aka John Ondrasik) will kick off a series of special string quartet shows beginning September 26. Ondrasik will be bringing top musicians including Tony-Award winning concertmaster and co-orchestrator of Moulin Rouge! The Musical Katie Kresek (Violin), Melissa Tong (Violin), who toured with Post Malone in 2023, and Broadway’s Chris Cardona (Viola) and Peter Sachon (Cello). The unique nature of the shows allows Ondrasik to go behind the music and tell stories while the format allows for a deeper dive into the catalog, while there is always a surprise or two in store.
“To share the stage with such incredible musicians every night is a gift that keeps giving,” says Ondrasik. “The string quartet allows a more intimate experience and the ability to pull songs from my catalog with fantastic string arrangements from world renowned composers that I do not play with the rock band. The string quartet also performs a multitude of classical and rock songs that change every night that is always a special treat for audiences.”
The tour comes to the Vogel in Red Bank on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at 7:30pm. Tickets range from $39.50 - $79.50 and are available for purchase online. The Vogel is located at 99 Monmouth Street in Red Bank, New Jersey.

Ondrasik’s passion for supporting humanitarian efforts and freedom has been a longstanding commitment for the artist as well. Recently, he’s been writing songs about key events around the world from a humanistic perspective including "Can One Man Save The World?" which was inspired by the courage of President Vladimir Zelenskyy and the people of Ukraine. He performed the song in Ukraine with the Ukrainian Orchestra amongst the ruins of the Antonov Airport in front of the Ukrainians’ beloved Mriya, the world’s largest cargo plane that Russia destroyed at the outset of the war.
Ondrasik wrote “OK (We Are Not Ok)” in response to the October 7th Hamas attacks in Israel, while addressing the cultural aftermath both in America and around the world. He will perform special versions of these songs. Hours before Iran's missile attack on Israel on April 13, Ondrasik performed “OK (We Are Not Ok)” in Tel Aviv. The singer/songwriter also performed his 9-11 anthem song, "Superman (It’s Not Easy).” Watch the performance and listen to his comments HERE.
Five For Fighting just finished their annual summer rock tour. Ondrasik recently performed a medley of two hits, “Superman (It’s Not Easy)” and “100 Years” on Live With Kelly And Mark on their special July 4 show watch it HERE.
