(NEWTON, NJ) -- The Newton Theatre presents Big Apple Comedy Club #59 on Friday, January 31, 2025 at 8:00pm. The lineup includes Drew Fraser, Chris Monty, Isabel Hagen, and Adam Muller.
Drew Fraser began his career in Boston at the world’s famous “Nick’s Comedy Stop”. He later moved to New York City where his career took off. His first television Appearance was on “Showtime at the Apollo”. Since then, Drew Fraser has been seen on Russell Simmons “Def Comedy Jam”, “BET Comic View” and his own comedy half-hour special on “Comedy Central Presents”. Drew Fraser has made performances all over the world, including London, Holland, Bermuda and Australia. Drew Fraser has received numerous awards for his stand- up acts, including the “New York City’s Funniest Male Comedian” award. Drew Fraser has also hosted “Amateur Night” at the world’s famous Apollo Theater in New York City. In addition, Drew Fraser has done warm-ups for TV shows such as “The Queen Latifah Show” and in 2007, co-hosted “P.Diddy’s Bad Boys of Comedy”. Today, you can see Drew Fraser doing warm-ups for the Tyra Banks show, hosting R&B Live @ Spotlight as well as the “The Wendy Williams Comedy Experience” at Carolines Comedy ClubWhether in a comedy club, musical event or showcase, Drew Fraser has the talent and ability to perform for any group, regardless of race, gender or age. Isabel Hagen is a stand-up comedian and classically trained violist. As a stand-up, she has been featured on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon multiple times, and as a New Face of Comedy at the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival in Montréal. Isabel started stand-up immediately after earning her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in viola performance from the Juilliard School. As a violist, she has played in the orchestra of many Broadway shows, and worked with artists such as Bjork, Max Richter and Steve Reich. You might be wondering if Isabel ever combines comedy and viola. The answer: sometimes!
With over 20 years of stand-up comedy and television under his belt, Chris Monty continues to delight audiences worldwide. His latest high profile projects include his stand-up comedy special titled "What's the Worst That Could Happen" (Amazon Prime), Vinyl (HBO), Red Oaks (Amazon Prime), Paul Bart: Mall Cop 2 (Sony Pictures), Kevin Can Wait ( CBS), and Orange is the New Black (Netflix). In his stand-up, Chris Monty channels a refreshing and unique style of the 1960's cool reminiscent of The Rat Pack. Chris' experience as a stand-up lends itself to his wide ranging acting work also.
Adam Muller is a New York based, MIT-educated, former finance professional turned comedian. Originally from Toronto, Adam’s first hour long stand-up comedy special “According to Plan” was released in September 2022 and is available on Amazon Prime and YouTube where it has amassed over 150,000 views (but who’s counting?). Adam’s follow-up special “Funny To You” was release in June 2024. Additionally, in February 2024, Adam recorded a Dry Bar Special, which should be release at the end of 2024 or early 2025. Adam’s comedy can be also heard on Sirius XM and at a comedy club near you. Adam has featured in multiple comedy festivals including the New York Comedy Festival and the Boston Comedy Festival and is a regular at multiple New York City comedy clubs including The New York Comedy Club, West Side Comedy Club and Standup NY.
