(NEWTON, NJ) -- The Newton Theatre presents Big Apple Comedy Club with performances by Buddy Fitzpatrick, Julia Scotti, Leighann Lord, and Greg Stone. The event takes place on Friday, April 7th. Doors are at 7:00pm, showtime is 8:00pm. The night is recommended for those 18 and older.
A native of Philadelphia, Buddy Fitzpatrick, combines the skill of a great monologist with a physical style that brings his observations to life. His act is made up of inventive material delivered in a self-assured style. Fitzpatrick is a regular on Comedy Central and has made appearances on A&E's “An Evening At The Improv," "Carolines Comedy Hour" and most recently, Gotham Comedy Live on AXS TV.
In addition to performing standup all over the country, Julia Scotti is currently starring in the critically acclaimed documentary, “Julia Scotti: Funny that Way”, now streaming on digital platforms. She has a cameo in the groundbreaking film "Bro's" - starring Billy Eichner. She can be seen on Showtime as one of the featured performers in “More Funny Women of a Certain Age.” Scotti remains a fan favorite of America’s Got Talent audiences. Simon Cowell said, “You genuinely made me laugh!”. Scotti has been named one of the Top Five Transgendered Comedians in the Country by Advocate Magazine and “Deadline,” called Scotti “Our Next Betty White.”
Leighann Lord is a veteran standup comedian who has appeared on HBO, Comedy Central, The View, Netflix and is a former co-host of the Emmy-nominated StarTalk with Neil de Grasse Tyson. She has performed for the troops in the Middle East and is a recipient of the AHA Humanist Arts Award. Lord can be seen in her recent Dry Bar Comedy Special, “I Mean Business” and Showtime's Even More Funny Women of a Certain Age. She is the author of several humor books including: “Dict Jokes and Real Women Do It Standing Up.”
Greg Stone is a regular at The Comedy Cellar, on the Jim & Sam show, The Bennington Show, AXS TV's Gotham Comedy Live, TruTV and SiriusXM Radio. He was a staff writer on Michelle Wolf’s White House Correspondents Dinner and worked with Wolf on “The Break” (Netflix). He has been featured on “Red Eye” and “America’s Got Talent”. Stone has been seen on “Late Late Show with James Corden” and known for his podcasts The Rad Dude Cast and Friday Night Greg as well as the musical revolution known as Night Cream.
