The Gallery at Hillside Square presents "Terra and Texture" by Lisa Marseglia-Moran

(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- The Gallery at Hillside Square is thrilled to announce its latest exhibition, featuring the remarkable works of artist Lisa Marseglia-Moran. Titled Terra and Texture, this series is a stunning exploration of interconnectedness and diversity, showcasing Marseglia-Moran's unique approach to mixed-media art. The exhibition runs from September 19 through December 13, 2024.

After a 30-year career as an art teacher in Paramus, NJ, Lisa Marseglia-Moran embarked on a new journey as a full-time artist in 2021. Since then, she has captivated audiences across New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut with her evocative creations that celebrate the beauty of nature and the unity of all living things.

Marseglia-Moran’s artistic journey is deeply rooted in her reverence for the natural world. She channels her inspiration through oils, watercolor, pen and ink, and mixed media into abstract expressions of the interconnected energy that binds us all.

A defining feature of Marseglia-Moran’s oeuvre is her innovative use of woven paper in mixed media works. This technique involves weaving together separate paintings or drawings of organic objects, resulting in mesmerizing compositions that embody movement, energy, and unity. Often, Marseglia-Moran continues to paint and collage upon the woven surface, adding layers of meaning and texture to her creations.

Terra and Texture, Marseglia-Moran’s latest series, pays homage to the profound Mayan philosophy that underscores humanity’s interconnectedness. Translating to “I am you, you are me” or “You are my other me,” Lak’Ech celebrates the diversity of human experience while emphasizing the underlying unity that binds us.
