(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- Enjoy an evening of comedy at State Theatre New Jersey with five hilarious comedians on Friday, September 29, 2023 at 8:0pm. The lineup includes Joe Matarese, Matt Lopes, Jackie Fabulous, Rishi Mathur, and emcee, Vinnie Brand.
Joe Matarese has been on The Howard Stern Show, WTF with Marc Maron, The Late Show with David Letterman, Comedy Central Presents Joe Matarese (1/2 Hour Special), The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn and Craig Ferguson,& Last Comic Standing, Chelsea Lately, and The Better Half where he and his wife took home the winning prize. Matarese was also featured on America’s Got Talent, where he received a standing ovation from all four celebrity judges. Matarese has three comedy specials, Medicated and The Poster's Wrong, and the recently released, Mullets and Mixtapes.
Matt Lopes is a comic based out of South Connecticut and has performed all over the Northeast. Lopes is the House Comic at the Stress Factory Comedy Club in Bridgeport, CT and the Cohost of the You Should Be Worried podcast. His credits include Don’t Tell Comedy, West Side Comedy Club, and New York Comedy Club. When Lopes is not onstage he’s making sketches and content on social media.
Comedian Jackie Fabulous captured America’s heart as a semi-finalist on the 2019 and 2022 season of America’s Got Talent and America’s Got Talent Allstars. She’s got charms that can make even Simon Cowell blush, as she was the only contestant Simon walked on stage to hug! Jackie Fabulous is a hilarious and affable stand-up comedian, writer, actor, producer, motivational speaker, and headliner who uses her jokes and sparkling nature to simultaneously entertain, encourage, and empower audiences while keeping them laughing, and easily navigating the comedy gamut from family friendly to naughty.
Vinnie Brand is an American stand-up comedian from Middletown, NJ. He is best known for being the club owner of The Stress Factory Comedy Clubs in New Brunswick, NJ and Bridgeport, CT. He has appeared on Last Comic Standing, the Jim & Sam show, the Bennington show, Comedy Central, Montreal Just For Laughs Festival, TED Talk, CT's 99.1 WPLR's Chaz and AJ In the Morning, Preston and Steve Show, John DeBella Show, NJ 101.5 with Bill Spadea, and on the best stages in NYC and Los Angeles. His recently released comedy special, RIP Fat Bobby, debuted on March 1 of this year.

After major renovations, State Theatre New Jersey celebrated its 100th Anniversary in December 2021 in a fully renovated theater including newly renovated lobbies, all new restrooms, upgraded HVAC systems, a new elevator for access to all levels, and brand-new theater seats. Originally built as a silent film and vaudeville palace, State Theatre’s historic significance was honored by PBS by featuring it in its documentary series, Treasures of New Jersey, in the fall of 2018. “Treasures of New Jersey: State Theatre New Jersey” can be streamed online.
Today, State Theatre is the largest performing arts center in Central New Jersey and has welcomed more than six million people through its doors since reopening as a nonprofit performing arts center in 1988. The mainstage programs have featured high-caliber artists such as Diana Ross, Tony Bennett, Kevin Hart, Ringo Starr, Melissa Etheridge, John Leguizamo, Harry Connick, Jr., Diana Krall, and Crosby, Stills & Nash.
