(BLOOMFILED, NJ) -- Skyline Theatre Company, a 20-year-old professional theatre company previously calling Bergen County its home, will continue its 2023 season in Bloomfield on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 7:00pm with a one-night-only NYC Encores-style concert production of "Working the Musical" at the Oakeside Bloomfield Cultural Center, 240 Belleville Avenue.
Based on Studs Terkel's best-selling book of interviews with American workers, Working paints a vivid portrait of the workers that the world so often takes for granted: the schoolteacher, the phone operator, the waitress, the millworker, the mason and the housewife, just to name a few.
Nominated for six Tony Awards, this classic has been updated in the 21st century for a modern age, featuring new songs by Tony Award-winning Lin-Manuel Miranda, as well as favorites by Stephen Schwartz, Craig Carnelia, James Taylor, Micki Grant, and more.
Sam Scalamoni, Skyline Theatre Company’s co-founder and artistic director, directs the production with Fernanda Douglas as Musical Director. The cast of principals features Gregory Banks, David Couter, Marie Lemon, Torinae Norman, James Conrad Smith, and Nicole Zelka. The evening is produced by Skyline Theatre Company in special arrangement with Music Theatre International.
Reservations are recommended and can be made online here. Tickets are $25 each, $20 for seniors and students.
