(BRANCHBURG, NJ) -- Raritan Valley Community College's Arts & Design Department will present a concert featuring pianist Abraham Alinea, January 21, 2024 at 2:00pm. The event, part of the MOZAIKA Concert Series' current season, will be held in the Welpe Theatre at the College's Branchburg campus.
The performance will feature Scarlatti Keyboard Sonata in E Major K. 380; Beethoven Sonata in E Major, op. 109; Ravel Valses nobles et sentimentales; and Chopin Sonata in B minor, op. 58.
Abraham Alinea, an adjunct faculty member at RVCC, is a classical pianist from Parlin, NJ. Praised for his thoughtful and sincere musicianship, Alinea recently completing his Artist Diploma at The Glenn Gould School under John Perry and David Louie. He is an active performer, teacher, and a well-received composer. Alinea made his orchestral debut in 2017 with the Rutgers Sinfonia under the baton of Kynan Johns and made his international debut as a featured pianist during ADDO Chamber Choir’s 2017 season. He has performed for such renowned artists as Marc-André Hamelin, Robert McDonald, and Stewart Goodyear.
The MOZAIKA Concert Series is designed to promote multicultural dialogue through the performance of music from the classical canon through the 21st Century. Concert proceeds will benefit the Applied Music Fund for purchases of musical instruments and scholarships for RVCC music students.
A post-performance discussion with the artist will follow the concert. General admission tickets cost $15 each; admission is free for seniors and students.
