(MOORESTOWN, NJ) -- On Friday, November 10, 2023, Perkins Center for the Arts in Moorestown presents The Jersey Corn Pickers as part of their House Concert Series. They are a Philadelphia-area band that plays original and traditional high-energy bluegrass and Americana music. Their style is infused with old time, folk, rock, blues, traditional country and all manner of American roots music. The concert begins at 8:00pm.
The Jersey Corn Pickers are busy performing at clubs, coffee houses, and festivals all over the Northeast. They have two CDs out: Jersey Corn Pickers and Lessons Learned. The have opened for such notable musicians as Peter Rowan, Tony Trischka, Marah, and many more. Their long list of performance credits include the Philadelphia Folk Festival, World Cafe Live, and the Gene Shay Folk Show on WXPN in Philadelphia.
Valerie Vaughn, singer/songwriter, aka New Jersey’s Troubadour, is a versatile performer with a vast repertoire of original songs about the legends and lore of the Garden State. Her lifetime achievements as a folksinger, songwriter and educator were recently recognized with a $20,000 New Jersey State Council on the Arts Heritage Award.
