(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Nimbus and Riverview Jazz present An Evening with Walter Parks on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at the Nimbus Arts Center. Swamp blues guitarist Walter Parks and drummer producer Steven Williams unite as The Unlawful Assembly to take a modern look at historic southern U.S. spirituals, hollers, reels and work songs. Showtime is 8:00pm.
This rare performance celebrates the return of vocalist Ada Dyer, who’s on a very short pause from touring worldwide with Bruce Springsteen and The E-Street Band. Parks was the longtime sideman to Woodstock legend Richie Havens. Williams played with Sade and Digable Planets.
General admission tickets are $30; VIP tickets (2 seats and 2 drink tickets) are available for $75. Tickets are available for purchase online. The Nimbus Arts Center is located at 329 Warren Street in Jersey City, New Jersey.
Opened in 2020, the Nimbus Arts Center at the Lively is a 14,900 sq. ft. multi-arts facility on the ground floors of the building, with apartments above, representing one of the most significant investments in the arts in Jersey City history.
The comprehensive arts center includes a 150-seat black box theater, studio and rehearsal space for Nimbus’ Dance Company and School of Nimbus, and administrative offices. The center will be fully ADA accessible to audiences and artists alike.
