(NEWTON, NJ) -- The Big Apple Comedy Club comes to The Newton Theatre on Friday, June 9, 2023. Comedians scheduled to perform include Brian Scolaro, Ophira Eisenberg, Matt Jenkins, and Jon Fisch. Doors are at 7:00pm, showtime is 8:00pm.
Reserved seating ranges from $24-$29 (additional fees may apply). Tickets go on on sale Friday, April 7 at 10:00am. A special members-only presale takes place Thursday, April 6 from 10:00am to 10:00pm.
Brian Scolaro is known for his appearances on “CONAN,” his half hour Comedy Central special, “Comedy Central Presents: Brian Scolaro”, for his role as Brian on ABC’s “A Million Little Things, as Doug on TBS’ “Sullivan And Son” and as Stuart on Fox’s “Stacked.” He’s appeared in “Shameless,” Abbot Elementary”, “Dexter”, “Mad Men” and many more. He has four comedy albums available on all platforms and is also the author of the book “How to Punch a Monkey”. And Marc Maron said on WTF podcast, Scolaro “might be the funniest f#ckin’ person alive.”
Ophira Eisenberg is best known as the host of NPR's and WNYC’s weekly trivia, puzzle and game show, “Ask Me Another.” On television, Eisbenberg has performed on CBS’ “Late Late Show with James Corden,” Comedy Central, VH1, TV Guide Channel’s “Standup In Stilettos” and more. In Canada, she appeared in her very own comedy special for CTV’s “Comedy Now.” She has been featured in the New Times Picks, New York Post’s “The 50 Best Bits That Crack Up Pro Comics”, selected by BackStage as one of “10 Standout Stand Ups Worth Watching” and regularly hailed as a “Highly Recommended Favorite” by Time Out New York magazine. Eisenberg’s debut memoir is “Screw Everyone: Sleeping My Way to Monogamy” (2013).
Matt Jenkins is known for his clean, quick-witted brand of comedy. Quickly becoming one of NY/NJ's strongest clean comics, Jenkins uses his diverse background, in combination with solid joke writing and charisma, to give audiences a relatable and memorable experience. Jenkins has performed internationally in China, Switzerland, Ireland and Russia as well as at America’s top comedy clubs including The World Famous Comic Strip, Caroline’s on Broadway and The Laugh Factory. Matt has appeared on NBC and recently recorded his first Dry Bar Comedy Special.
A prolific monologist with universal appeal, Jon Fisch focuses on the idiosyncrasies of city living. After moving to NYC from Boston, he was chosen as one of Comedy Central's "Fresh Faces of Comedy" and named one of Back Stage Magazine's "10 Standout Stand-ups". Fisch was a critical favorite at the prestigious Montreal “Just for Laughs" Comedy Festival as part of the "New Faces" showcase and the Club Series show "Dating It. Fisch’s most recent appearance on CBS’ “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” has gained him wide recognition and a new legion of fans.
