Can you say prolific, boys and girls?
Well, that’s what veteran Jersey rock Shawn Mars has been since June 2022, releasing eight LPs. The latest, “Lo-Fi Mofo,” includes “Dirty Stayouts,” the Makin Waves Song of the Week.
As the Makin Waves Song of the Week, “Dirty Stayouts” also can be heard between 6 and 8 p.m. on Aug. 18 on “Radio Jersey” at ThePenguinRocks.com. If you miss it, you can tune in any time in the archives at The Penguin.
Shawn also has released the LPs “Psychodelic,” “Scratch The Surface,” “Lockdown,” “Spare Parts,” “Machine,” and “Rewind” this year and “Greasy Kid Stuff” last year. He not only wrote, performed, recorded and mastered all the albums, but also did all their photography and artwork.
Shawn’s bands have included Ozone Monday, Mars Needs Women, Mercy Circle, Mystery City, and Safety In Numbers. Now pursuing a solo career, Shawn will play his new music live this weekend on Friday at MJ’s in Spotswood and Saturday at Broadway in Point Pleasant.
