(TUCKERTON, NJ) -- The Lizzie Rose Music Room presents The Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at 7:30pm. The band has built its reputation the long, slow, hard way. After 12 years of playing as many as 300 shows each year, Rev. Peyton, the world's foremost country blues finger-style picker, along with the biggest little band in the country has pieced together one of the most dedicated followings out there.
Three time BMA nominee's The Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band are "the greatest front-porch blues band in the world". They are led by Reverend Peyton, who most consider to be the premier finger picker playing today. He has earned a reputation as both a singularly compelling performer and a persuasive evangelist for the rootsy, country blues styles that captured his imagination early in life and inspired him and his band to make pilgrimages to Clarksdale, Mississippi to study under such blues masters as T-Model Ford, Robert Belfour and David “Honeyboy” Edwards.
Their record Dance Songs For Hard Times went #1 on the Billboard, iTunes and Sirius XM Blues Charts and was produced by Grammy winner Vance Powell (Jack White, Chris Stapleton). The record was critically acclaimed by Rolling Stone, Relix, Popmatters, Guitar World, American Songwriter, No Depression, Glide, Wide Open Country, Paste, American Blues Scene and many more!
Tickets are $38 and available for purchase online.
The Lizzie Rose Music Room is located at 217 E. Main Street in Tuckerton, New Jersey. The venue is a "listening room", not a bar or restaurant. They present a variety of music including blues, jazz, bluegrass, country, rock, soul, singer-songwriters, and more.
