Levoy Theatre presents Irving Berlin's "White Christmas"

(MILLVILLE, NJ) -- Get into the holiday spirit with Irving Berlin's White Christmas at the Levoy Theatre.  Based upon the classic film, the production features music and lyrics by Irving Berlin and a book by David Ives and Paul Blake.  Performances run weekends from November 15-24, 2024.

Based on the beloved, timeless film, this heartwarming musical adaptation features 17 Irving Berlin songs and a book by David Ives and Paul Blake. Veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis have a successful song-and-dance act after World War II. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by Bob and Phil’s former army commander.

With a dazzling score featuring well-known standards including “Blue Skies,” “I Love A Piano,” “How Deep Is the Ocean” and the perennial title song, White Christmas is an uplifting, wholesome musical that will delight audiences of all ages. It is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals.

Performances take place Friday, November 15 at 8:00pm; Saturday, November 16 at 8:00pm; Sunday, November 17 at 3:00pm; Thursday, November 21 at 7:30pm (Relaxed Performance & ASL Interpretation); Friday, November 22 at 8:00pm; Saturday, November 23 at 2:00pm; and Sunday, November 24 at 3:00pm.  Tickets are available for purchase online. The Levoy Theatre is located at 126-130 N. High Street in Millville, New Jersey.

The Levoy Theatre Preservation Society is a not-for-profit organization committed to reviving and continued operation of Millville’s century old Levoy Theatre as a performing, screen arts and educational center serving Southern New Jersey and surrounding areas. Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey to present "The Importance of Being Earnest"

'Take the Lead' is Informative and Entertaining

The importance of having arts appreciation studies in schools is an issue that continually draws debate. Questions about what value students get from these studies is at the heart of the discussion. Some answers to those questions are in a new show now playing at Paper Mill Playhouse. The world premier of Take the Lead introduces a new musical based on the 2006 movie of the same name. It tells the true story of Pierre Dulaine who was a champion ballroom dancer. Dulaine is a co-founder of Dancing Classrooms, an arts education program designed to enhance essential life skills through social dance. Dancing Classrooms was brought into the New York City schools where, over the last 30 years, hundreds of thousands of student have participated.
