(HOPEWELL, NJ) -- After a summer of film and pop-up events, Hopewell Theater will be fully reopening September 15 with a robust fall schedule featuring a variety of live music, live performance, comedy, film, and special programs September through November of 2022.
LIVE MUSIC LINEUP: Start your fall with Celtic music when Karan Casey brings traditional Irish folk to New Jersey. Also in September, Los Angeles street singer and roots music revolutionary Sunny War, followed by The RT’s of Brooklyn, who mix punk-rock energy with horn-drenched soul.
October features folk-pop singer-songwriter Dar Williams and “Neofunkadelicfolkpoptwangrock” band Christine Havrilla & Gypsy Fuzz. Starting off November are Philadelphia folk and acoustic guitarist Vance Gilbert and Texas native Rhett Miller, frontman of the Dallas-based alt-country band, the Old 97’s. Later, Michael Glabicki of Rusted Root with Dirk Miller bring a mix of acoustic worldbeat, rock, and folk to Hopewell. Finishing the month is Live at the Fillmore, acknowledged as the #1 worldwide tribute to the original Allman Brothers Band.
PERFORMANCE LINEUP: Hopewell Theater’s stage is alive with live performances. From Broadway to Buckingham Palace, John D. Smitherman has performed there! Enjoy famous Broadway songs during Smitherman’s October live concert, The Music of the Night. Also in October is Somebody’s Daughter, a one-woman-show written and performed by Zara Phillips, accompanied live by musician Richard Thompson.
STAND-UP COMEDY LINEUP: If you want to relax and laugh, take a night off for stand-up comedy entertainment! In October, join us for Progressively Funny starring John Fugelsang & Friends, or in November, Salami’s East Coast Comedy Presents Gemini & Friends.
OPEN MIC: Hopewell Theater’s fan favorite performance showcase series, Your Stage at Any Stage, also returns, once again hosted by Michelle Klein of The Peasant Grill restaurant.
INDEPENDENT FILM FEATURES: Miss the movies? In October, 18 ½ comes to the big screen twice - the second screening includes a post-film Directors Talk with filmmakers Daniel Moya and Dan Mirvish. Fall will also bring a continuation of the theater’s Art of Living Well series, featuring inspiring films, speakers, and interactive discussions exploring ways of cultivating serenity, meaning, and a deeper connection to one’s self and the world. SUPPER CLUBS: HT’s AOLW supper club series begins September with the film, Jazz Fest: A New Orleans Story, with more supper clubs to be announced in the coming weeks.

HEALTH AND SAFETY UPDATE: The theater has taken the necessary precautions for the safety of its patrons, staff, and talent, including HVAC upgrades, thorough cleaning and sanitation before and after shows, and requiring all staff to wear a mask when inside the building.
As of September 2022, patrons and talent are no longer required, but strongly encouraged to wear a mask when inside the building.
