originally published: 03/19/2024

(HOLMDEL, NJ) -- Holmdel Theatre Company is staging a new production of Peter and the Starcatcher, the Tony-award winning play that explores the origins of "The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up" (a.k.a. Peter Pan). The production will run for two weekends (April 12-21, 2024) and is directed by Kirk White and co-produced by Laurie Devino and Jessica Randell.

White, who previously directed The Outsiders which played a sold-out run at Holmdel Theatre Company, is thrilled to be bringing Peter and the Starcatcher to Monmouth County audiences. “Directing this play has been a thrilling journey into the heart of storytelling. I’m excited to bring this beloved show to life on stage where audiences can experience the magic of Neverland in a whole new way.”

The play follows the journey of an orphan boy named Peter, who embarks on a thrilling voyage aboard the Neverland. Along the way, he encounters pirates, mermaids, and magical creatures, all while uncovering the secrets of a mysterious trunk located in the captain’s cabin. Filled with humor and heart, the play explores themes of friendship, bravery, and the power of believing in oneself. It's a captivating tale that will leave audiences of all ages enchanted long after the show is over.

The Holmdel Theatre Company production features John Davis as Peter and Tori Dillon as Molly. The company includes over a dozen actors including Grace Ahlin, Lisa Catalfamo, James Fogerty, Jessica Freeland, Randy Hurst, Jessica Junqua, Stefanie Karis, Stephanie Long, Jesse Luciani, Alanna Monte, Jessica Randell, Aaron Ratzan, Anya Tumbleson, and Maggie White.

Tickets for this production are available for purchase online. Performances take place in the Duncan Smith Theater, located at 36 Crawfords Corner Road in Holmdel, New Jersey.

Holmdel Theatre Company at the Duncan Smith Theater (HTC) is a non-profit, semi-professional theatre company dedicated to presenting fresh interpretations of classic plays as well as rarely presented modern dramas and comedies.

HTC is dedicated to providing opportunities for students and non-professionals to work with professional theatre artists in a collaborative, artistic and educational exchange.  Making this sophisticated informality possible is The Duncan Smith Theater. Congenial and warm, this historic, 125-year-old barn has been transformed into a modern, fully air-conditioned facility with 99 comfortably cushioned seats.

The HTC performance space is a black box theatre that allows for flexibility in stage and seating arrangement to suit the specific requirements of a production. The Duncan Smith Theater gives each artist the opportunity to explore more experimental modes of performance. This intimate space allows the audience to connect with the performing artists.
