For the Whim Productions presents "The Tempest"

(BRIDGETON, NJ) -- For the Whim Productions presents The Tempest from November 8-16, 2024 at Hopeloft in Bridgeton. This version of the Shakespeare classic will be set in a modern, corporate business world with a twist of playful meddling magic.

Trapped by a bad storm, the owners of rival businesses, Sycorax and Milan, are forced to talk out their differences. Perhaps a new romance could spring up to merge these two companies? Perhaps that was the plan all along...

Performances take place Friday, November 8 at 8:00pm; Saturday, November 9 at 2:00pm & 8:00pm; Sunday, November 10 at 2:00pm; Thursday, November 14 at 7:30pm; Friday, November 15 at 8:00pm; and Saturday, November 16 at 2:00pm.  Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Tickets are available for purchase online. Doors open 30 minutes before showtime. Hopeloft is located at 40 East Commerce Street in Bridgeton, New Jersey.

For the Whim Productions (est. 2019) is a nonprofit community theatre & special event organization based in South Jersey.

Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey to present "The Importance of Being Earnest"

(MADISON, NJ) -- After a two-decade-long absence from The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, Artistic Director Brian B. Crowe brings Oscar Wilde and his delicious wit back to the Main Stage with one of the playwright's most beloved comedies – The Importance of Being Earnest. The production runs from May 14 – June 1, 2025.

'Take the Lead' is Informative and Entertaining

The importance of having arts appreciation studies in schools is an issue that continually draws debate. Questions about what value students get from these studies is at the heart of the discussion. Some answers to those questions are in a new show now playing at Paper Mill Playhouse. The world premier of Take the Lead introduces a new musical based on the 2006 movie of the same name. It tells the true story of Pierre Dulaine who was a champion ballroom dancer. Dulaine is a co-founder of Dancing Classrooms, an arts education program designed to enhance essential life skills through social dance. Dancing Classrooms was brought into the New York City schools where, over the last 30 years, hundreds of thousands of student have participated.
