Friday, October 13, 2023 - American Repertory Ballet to Open Season with "Elevate". (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- American Repertory Ballet (ARB) announces the opening of its spellbinding 2023-24 season - "Elevate" - at the state-of-the-art New Brunswick Performing Arts Center (NBPAC), October 13-15. The program features world premieres by celebrated choreographers Stephanie Martinez and Meredith Rainey, along with the return of ARB Artistic Director Ethan Stiefel's rousing Wood Work, set to modern renditions of Nordic folk tunes by the Danish String Quartet. This is the bold new musical comedy from the visionaries that rocked Broadway with Avenue Q and Spring Awakening. Friday, October 13, 2023 - The Hardy Boys Kicks Off The Growing Stage's 42nd Season. Friday, October 13, 2023 - State Theatre presents Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Live in Concert. (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey presents the national tour of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Live in Concert on Friday, October 13, 2023 at 8:00pm. The Academy Award-winning film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, from Sony Pictures Animation will be accompanied by a live orchestra, band, and turntables with a scratch DJ playing music from the score and soundtrack. Friday, October 13, 2023 - McCarter Theatre Center presents the Original London Production of "The Woman In Black". (PRINCETON, NJ) -- The Original London Production of Susan Hill's The Woman in Black, adapted by Stephen Mallatratt and directed by Robin Herford, begins performances October 13 at McCarter Theatre Center and runs through October 29, 2023. Based on the 1983 classic horror novel, The Woman in Black grew to global acclaim and terrified thrill-seeking audiences for 33 years on the West End, becoming one of the longest-running plays in London and inspiring a blockbuster film franchise starring Daniel Radcliffe.
Friday, October 13, 2023 - BlowUpRadio.com Announces 2023 Banding Together Benefit Lineup and Compilation Track List. New Jersey internet radio station BlowUpRadio.com Where NJ Rock Lives, continues its annual Banding Together: Benefit For The Spondylitis Association of America, bringing together some of the best indie musicians from around the Garden State, and the world. From Friday, October 13 through Sunday, October 15, 2023, 36 artists will perform half hour sets of their music on BlowUpRadio.com's station. George Street Playhouse presents "The Pianist". Vivid Stage presents the World Premiere of "Grief at High Tide". (SUMMIT, NJ) -- Vivid Stage, in residence at Oakes Center at 120 Morris Avenue in Summit, will present the world premiere of Grief at High Tide by Richard Willett from October 5-15, 2023. When struggling New York photographer Jennifer Evers tells her husband Christopher that the photo she took of him by his mother's deathbed — the one he never gave her permission to take and asked her not to show anyone — was secretly entered in a very prestigious competition, it doesn’t go well. To try to investigate the role that art plays in real-life relationships, Jennifer goes out on assignment to California, to create a piece on a Pulitzer Prize−winning photograph, Grief at High Tide, which changed the lives of everyone involved.

Main Street Theatre Company presents "Dogfight: The Musical". Thursday, October 12, 2023 - Centenary Stage's NEXTStage Repertory presents "Six Rounds of Vengeance". (HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) -- Centenary Stage Company's NEXTStage Repertory will return for the 2023-2024 season with a production of Six Rounds of Vengeance by Qui Nguyen from October 12-16, 2023. Thursday, October 12, 2023 - Inaugural "Jersey City Art Week" Premieres This October. Hudson County's Jersey City is known for its vibrant arts scene. There are many events celebrating the diversity of local artists throughout the year, however, this year local officials have taken the celebration of visual arts one step further and have created the first ever "Jersey City Art Week," which will run Oct. 12-15 in various neighborhoods throughout the city. This event combines the already existing Art Fair 14C and Jersey City Art and Studio Tour and puts them under one umbrella; one that city officials hope will bring even more visitors in to explore what Jersey City has to offer.

(PRINCETON JUNCTION, NJ) -- West Windsor Arts is hosting a special solo dance performance by Shivani Badgi, an Indian American dancer, teacher and choreographer, on Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Badgi will perform Nritya Mehfil, a traditional Kathak dance that originated in northern India hundreds of years ago. Kathak is derived from the Sanskrit word "katha," which means story. (NEWARK, NJ) -- The New Jersey Symphony will present ten concerts in five venues throughout New Jersey this October. The 2023–24 season opens on October 14 in Newark and October 15 in New Brunswick with concerts titled "Ellington & Dvo?ák: New Worlds," which explore the music of Black composers such as Duke Ellington and William Grant Still. The concerts open with a work by living composer Valerie Coleman, which starts with a whisper and gradually builds to a melody, evoking the power and sweetness of Umoja, the Swahili word for unity (also the title of the piece).

(VOORHEES, NJ) -- The 85+ members of the all-volunteer Philharmonic of Southern New Jersey will take the stage to open the PSNJ's 2023-24 season on Sunday, October 15, 2023 as the group welcomes James Allen Anderson as its new Music Director. During this first performance of the season, the PSNJ will offer two iconic works from the symphonic repertoire: Edward Elgar's Enigma Variations and Symphony No. 4 in E minor, Op. 98 by Johannes Brahms. The two works explore the "Theme and Variation" musical form and Anderson selected the works for their beauty and timelessness.
