Wednesday, May 15 - Playground Theatre Project presents "Lost Angels". (RED BANK, NJ) -- During a lock down, 11 high school students are stuck in a classroom without a teacher and only texts and the PA system to let them know what is happening in the rest of the school. Amidst the confusion and for some, panic, these students will learn a great deal about each other. That's the premise behind Lost Angels, a play written and directed by Ralph Columbino (Artistic Director for the Actors Playground School of Theatre), which has performances at The Vogel on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. Performances are at 6:00pm and 8:30pm.

Thursday, May 16 - State Theatre New Jersey presents Harry Chapin's Greatest Stories LIVE featuring The Chapin Family. (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey presents Harry Chapin's Greatest Stories LIVE featuring The Chapin Family on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 8:00pm. Watch as two generations of the musical Chapin Family—Tom, Steve, and Jen Chapin, and The Chapin Sisters (Abigail and Lily) bring the songs of Harry Chapin to life.

Friday, May 17 - Outpost in the Burbs presents Josh Ritter - Works in Progress + Songs You Know. (MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- Outpost in the Burbs presents Josh Ritter - Works in Progress + Songs You Know on Friday, May 17, 2024 at the First Congregational Church of Montclair. Sunday, May 19 - Jersey Arts Podcast: Jazz's James Austin, Jr. Celebrates Stevie Wonder. If you're a Stevie Wonder fan, you have to give jazz pianist and bandleader James Austin, Jr's music a listen. His 2018 debut album, Songs in the Key of Wonder, reinterprets Stevie Wonder's beloved catalog with a Jazz spin, creating beautiful new tracks.

Sunday, May 19 - Hub City Opera and Dance Presents the New Jersey Premiere of "Murasaki's Moon" preceded by Beautiful Japanese Folk Dancing. (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- Hub City Opera and Dance presents the New Jersey premiere of "Murasaki's Moon." This captivating new opera brings to life the remarkable story of Lady Murasaki, the 11th-century Japanese writer who defied societal norms to create "The Tale of Genji," widely considered the world's first novel. The production will open on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at the Avenel Performing Arts Center. Showtime is 2:00pm.

Thursday, May 16 - Westminster Conservatory at Nassau ends season on May 16 with "Songs from the Winding Road of Love". (PRINCETON, NJ) -- The current season of Westminster Conservatory at Nassau will conclude on Thursday, May 16, 2024 with Songs from the Winding Road of Love, a recital performed by Westminster Conservatory faculty members Susan Gaylord, mezzo soprano; and Larissa Korkina, piano.The recital will take place in the Niles Chapel of Nassau Presbyterian Church (61 Nassau Street) in Princeton. The event is open to the public free of charge. Showtime is 12:15pm.



Friday, May 17 - NJPAC presents Diana Ross. (NEWARK, NJ) -- Diana Ross, radiant icon and legendary entertainer, brings her Beautiful Love Performances Legacy Tour to the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) on Friday, May 17, 2024 at 8:00pm. After a record-breaking world tour and a recent sold-out show at Radio City Music Hall, Ms. Ross returns to the Tri-State area to share a lifetime of memories with her iconic hits.

Friday, May 17 - Roy's Hall presents Kalos. (BLAIRSTOWN, NJ) -- Kalos, a Celtic roots trio, will perform an eclectic, invigorating mix of instrumentals and songs at Roy's Hall on Friday, May 17, 2024. Showtime is 8:00pm.

Friday, May 17 - The Princeton Folk Music Society presents Ivan Goff and Katie Linnane. (PRINCETON, NJ) -- The Princeton Folk Music Society presents Irish music duo Ivan Goff (uileann pipes, Irish flute, and whistles) and Katie Linnane (fiddle) on Friday, May 17, 2024 at Christ Congregation Church,. Friday, May 17 - New Brunswick Chamber Orchestra presents NBCO in Blue - Celebrating 100 Years of Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue". (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- The New Brunswick Chamber Orchestra presents NBCO in Blue - Celebrating 100 Years of Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" on Friday, May 17, 2024 at Nicholas Music Center. In collaboration with the New Brunswick Jazz Project, the NBCO presents a fusion of classical music and jazz. Showtime is 7:30pm.

Friday, May 17 - Ember Choral Arts Presents: "On the Heart of Being, Amidst Machines" - A Concert Exploration of Love in the Modern World. (MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- Ember Choral Arts presents "On the Heart of Being, Amidst Machines" on Sunday, May 19th, 2024 at The Unitarian Universalist Congregation (67 Church Street) in Montclair. Saturday, May 18 - 2nd Annual Lakehouse Music Block Party. (ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- The 2nd Annual Lakehouse Music Block Party will take place on Saturday, May 18, 2024 (rain date May 19th) with live entertainment, a beer garden, food trucks, and more. All proceeds benefit Asbury Park Music Foundation's Music Saved My Life program, which provides music education to underprivileged youth.

Saturday, May 18 - Centenary Stage Company hosts StevieMac concert to Benefit Hackettstown Rotary Club. (HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) -- Centenary Stage Company and the Hackettstown Rotary Club are presenting a one-night-only concert event on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 8:00pm with StevieMac: A Fleetwood Mac & Stevie Nicks Experience. Sunday, May 19 - Westminster Conservatory of Music observes Asian and Pacific American Heritage Month with May 19 faculty recital. (PRINCETON, NJ) -- The Westminster Conservatory of Music will present the concert, Celebrating Asian and Pacific American (APA) Heritage Month on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at 7:30pm. The concert features nine Conservatory faculty members of APA heritage as they perform music that represents the nation of their background. It will take place in Bristol Chapel (101 Walnut Lane) in Princeton. Admission is free.

Colt Coeur presents "Still" by Lia Romeo starring Jayne Atkinson and Tim Daly. (NEW YORK, NY) -- Colt Coeur presents the New York premiere of Still by Lia Romeo from April 18 through May 17, 2024 at DR2 Theatre (103 East 15th Street). Directed by Adrienne Campbell-Holt, Jayne Atkinson and Tim Daly will reprise their acclaimed roles as Helen and Mark in this new play for anyone who's ever wondered "what if?" The two had a successful run at the Dorset Theatre Festival in 2023.

Molière in the Park presents "The Miser". (BROOKLYN, NJ) -- Molière in the Park, in partnership with Prospect Park Alliance and LeFrak Center at Lakeside, and in collaboration with Brooklyn Public Library, presents a re-imagined version of Molière's The Miser, translated and adapted by David Chambers, and directed by Molière in the Park's Founding Artistic Director Lucie Tiberghien. The Miser runs April 27 – May 19, 2024 for 21 performances in a limited engagement at Prospect Park’s LeFrak Center in Brooklyn. Enter at 171 East Drive between Ocean Avenue and Lincoln Road.

Chatham Community Players presents "Nine". (CHATHAM, NJ) -- The Chatham Community Players concludes its 102nd Season with the critically acclaimed and modern musical classic, Nine with music & lyrics by Maury Yeston and book by Arthur Kopit from May 3-18, 2024 at The Chatham Playhouse (23 North Passaic Ave) in Chatham. Based on iconic film director Federico Fellini's legendary work "8 1/2", this spectacular musical adaptation features one man and the dozens of women in his life. Celebrated but impetuous film director, Guido Contini, succumbing to the pressures of filming his latest film epic, suffers a midlife crisis.

Asbury Park Theater Company presents "The Mountaintop". (ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- Asbury Park Theater Company presents The Mountaintop by Katori Hall from May 10-19, 2024 at the Jersey Shore Arts Center. The Mountaintop examines Martin Luther King Jr.'s last night on earth, set entirely in Room 306 of the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, TN. The play is Hall's fictional reimagining of what may have happened in that motel room on the night before MLK's assassination.

Art House Productions presents 2024 INKubator New Play Festival. (JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Art House Productions presents the 2024 INKubator New Play Festival from May 13-21. This year's playwrights are Upasna Barath, Amanda Sage Comerford, Leo Layla Díaz, Neil Levi, Dave Osmundsen, and Marcus Scott. Audiences who attend the festival will have the opportunity to participate in conversations with the writers, directors, and actors following each performance. All readings are free to attend, but advanced registration is required.

Thursday, May 16 - NJ Comedian Liz Glazer to Record Comedy Special at SOPAC. (SOUTH ORANGE, NJ) -- On Thursday, May 16, 2024, comedian Liz Glazer will be the first comedian to ever record a comedy special on the Mainstage at South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC). Showtime is 7:30pm.

Wednesday, May 15 - UCC Presents Screening, Discussion of Critically Acclaimed Film "Kemba" on Wednesday. (NEWARK, NJ) -- A screening and discussion of the critically acclaimed film, "Kemba," which touches on themes of resilience and education, will be hosted for greater Newark community members by United Community Corporation (UCC). The event will take place Wednesday, May 15 at 4:00pm inside the West Side Park Community Center in Newark. While the event is open to the public, registration is required.

Thursday, May 16 - Piscataway Hosts 51st Annual St. George Greek Festival. (PISCATAWAY, NJ) -- The 51st Annual St. George Greek Festival returns May 16-19, 2024. This Central Jersey tradition kicks-off New Jersey's "Greek Festival Season" lasting from May until October at Greek churches throughout the State. St. George, Piscataway Festival is synonymous with "philotimo" the Greek ideal of welcoming EVERYONE to explore Greek culture through homemade food, good music, traditional dancing and cultural tours.
