2024 New Jersey International Film Festival Preview - (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- The 29th Annual New Jersey International Film Festival will take place May 31 to June 9, 2024 on Friday, Saturday, and Sundays. The Festival will be a hybrid one as it will be presented online as well as with in-person screenings at Rutgers University. All the films will be available virtually via Video on Demand for 24 hours on their show date.
Saturday, June 8 - State Theatre New Jersey 2024 Benefit Gala features performance by Jay Leno. (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey will host its annual Benefit Gala on Saturday, June 8, 2024. The gala, whose proceeds are essential for STNJ to continue to make world-class arts programming affordable and accessible to individuals from all ages and backgrounds in our diverse New Brunswick community and beyond, will take place at the historic State Theatre. The evening includes dinner, dancing, a silent auction, and a performance by comedian Jay Leno.

Wednesday, June 5 - NJPAC presents Bonnie Raitt. (NEWARK, NJ) -- Bonnie Raitt and members of her longtime touring band are bringing the "Just Like That..." tour to New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) for a performance on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at 7:30pm. Raitt is a singer, songwriter and guitarist whose unique style blends blues, R&B, rock, and pop. After 20 years as a cult favorite, she broke through to the top in the early 90s with her GRAMMY-award winning albums, Nick of Time and Luck of the Draw, which featured hits, "Something To Talk About" and "I Can't Make You Love Me" among others.
Thursday, June 6 - Chris Stapleton's "All-American Road Show" to Come to Camden and East Rutherford. (CAMDEN, NJ) -- Chris Stapleton's "All-American Road Show" tour will have two performances in the area in 2024. Stapleton will be at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden on Thursday, June 6 with special guests Marcus King and Nikki Lane; and at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford on Saturday, June 8 with George Strait and special guest Little Big Town.

Sunday, June 9 - Afro-Peruvian Rhythms at June Jersey Jazz LIVE! in Madison. (MADISON, NJ) -- The Forbidden Tropics band, led by Perth Amboy-based guitarist Alejandro Ataucusi, blends Afro-Peruvian rhythms with harmonic elements of jazz. The Afro-Peruvian styles evolved from the music of the African slaves brought by the Spanish to Peru during the 17th century. The band will be bringing its festive music to the Madison, NJ, Community Arts Center on Sunday, June 9, 2024 as part of the New Jersey Jazz Society's Jersey Jazz LIVE! series.
Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey presents "A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder". (MADISON, NJ) -- The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey (STNJ) will open their 62nd season with the Tony Award-winning musical comedy A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder, marking the theatre's first musical in over a decade. Performances will run from May 15 through June 9, 2024 at FM Kirby Shakespeare Theatre on the campus of Drew University.
Lantern Theater Company to Close 30th Anniversary Season with William Shakespeare's "The Comedy of Errors". (PHILADELPHIA, PA) -- Lantern Theater Company will close its 30th anniversary season with The Comedy of Errors, part of the company's ongoing commitment to produce the timeless stories of William Shakespeare for both the general public and local school students. Lantern Artistic Director Charles McMahon directs an ensemble cast of Lantern veterans, including Morgan Charéce Hall, J Hernandez, Dave Johnson, Brian McCann, Lee Minora, Kishia Nixon, Matteo Scammell, and Zach Valdez. The Comedy of Errors runs Thursday, May 16 through Sunday, June 16, 2024, at St. Stephen's Theater in Center City Philadelphia.
Luna Stage presents "Queen of the Night". (WEST ORANGE, NJ) -- Luna Stage presents Queen of the Night by travis tate, directed by Lucas Pinner, running Thursdays-Sundays May 16 to June 9, 2024. Billed as "a story of queerness, Blackness, masculinity and the challenges of camping with family," this honest, funny, heartwarming play explores themes of family, history, and reconciliation.
Music Mountain Theatre presents "Sweet Charity". (LAMBERTVILLE, NJ) -- Music Mountain Theatre (MMT) presents Sweet Charity, the classic 1966 musical, weekends from May 24 to June 9, 2024. It is the seventh mainstage show of MMT's 2024 season.

Surflight Theatre presents "Million Dollar Quartet". (BEACH HAVEN, NJ) -- Surflight Theatre will open their 75th Season of Broadway at the Beach with Million Dollar Quartet from May 30 through June 16, 2024. If you grew up listening to any of the hitmakers that were discovered by Sam Phillips, you won't want to miss out on seeing Million Dollar Quartet - a musical based on the auspicious meeting between four of the greatest rockers of all time in 1956 at Sun Records in Memphis. The men were Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley, and for one night only they jammed together.
Gateway Playhouse presents "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat". (SOMERS POINT, NJ) -- Gateway Playhouse presents Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat - the first musical of its 2024 mainstage season - across two weekends, May 31 to June 2 and June 7-9. 2024 Lighthouse International Film Festival Preview. (LONG BEACH ISLAND, NJ) -- The 2024 Lighthouse International Film Festival (LIFF) takes place June 5-9, on beautiful Long Beach Island. In addition to watching films, festival goers can rub shoulders with producers and directors, attend filmmaker panels, master classes, and party into the night at special events. The festival will screen more than 110 documentary, narrative, short, horror, thriller, and surf films.
