Saturday, June 22 - "Jazz Goes to the Movies" Will Celebrate the Music and Stories Behind the Songs. Many jazz standards and today's most popular songs were first featured in films. On Saturday, June 22, an all-star ensemble featuring Don Braden on tenor saxophone and flute, David O’Rourke on guitar, Oscar Perez on piano, Bill Crow on bass, Karl Latham on drums, and Cydney Halpin on vocals will celebrate jazz in film with a concert called "Jazz Goes to the Movies" on the back deck at Morristown's Morris Museum. Clowns Like Me will have its New York Off-Broadway Premiere at the DR2 Theatre this summer. (UNION, NJ) -- Kean University's new Center for Africana Studies will host its first Juneteenth Jamboree on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 to celebrate the day slavery ended in the United States. The event, which is open to the public, comes as the University announces that Phi Beta Sigma, one of the oldest historically Black fraternities in the country, is joining the KEANetwork employee benefit program.
