Wednesday, March 5 - bergenPAC hosts Ukraine Odesa National Ballet US Tour 2025: Don Quixote. (ENGLEWOOD, NJ) -- Step into over 200 years of history with the legendary Ukraine Odesa National Ballet as they bring the timeless classic Don Quixote to life at Bergen Performing Arts Center (bergenPAC) on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. Founded in the early 19th century, the Odesa National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre stands as one of Ukraine's oldest and most prestigious cultural institutions, preserving a legacy of excellence and inspiration. Showtime is 7:00pm.

Wednesday, March 5 - Nearly 1,000 students to attend Women's History Month concert by New Jersey Youth Symphony at UCPAC. (RAHWAY, NJ) -- The New Jersey Youth Symphony (NJYS), a program of Wharton Arts, announced that nearly 1,000 elementary and middle school students will attend a free Education Concert on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at 10:00am at the Union County Performing Arts Center in Rahway. Students from Union, Essex, Morris, and Passaic counties will attend this special event celebrating Women's History Month, with music selections by Louise Farrenc, Florence Price, Chen Yi, and Gabriela Lena Frank.

American Theater Group presents "Purlie". (RAHWAY, NJ) -- Broadway veteran Kenny Ingram will direct American Theater Group's (ATG) production of the exhilarating and Tony Award-winning musical Purlie, running March 6-23, 2025, at Hamilton Stage in Rahway. Gary Mitchell, Jr. will provide Musical Direction. Purlie is the 1970 musical adaptation of Ossie Davis's comedic play Purlie Victorious, which just completed a hugely successful revival on Broadway last season.

American Repertory Ballet presents the World Premiere of Ethan Stiefel's "Spirit of the Highlands". (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- American Repertory Ballet (ARB) continues its dynamic 2024-2025 season with the breathtaking world premiere of Ethan Stiefel's Spirit of the Highlands from Friday, March 7 through Sunday, March 9, 2025 at the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center. An adaptation of August Bournonville's romantic classic La Sylphide, this piece re-imagines the tale of a Scotsman's pursuit of a mystical forest spirit.

Friday, March 7 - State Theatre New Jersey and Stress Factory Comedy Club present Comedy Night Live!. (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey and Stress Factory Comedy Club present Comedy Night Live! on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 8:00pm. The lineup features top talent including Matt Lopes, Brian Scolaro, Patty Rosborough, and Vinnie Brand.

Friday, March 7 - American Theater Group presents "Purlie" Post-Performance Talkback on Friday. (RAHWAY, NJ) -- American Theater Group (ATG) will present a Talkback session entitled "The Origins of Purlie" following the Fri. March 7, 2025 at 7:00pm performance of Purlie at Hamilton Stage in Rahway. Purlie is the musical version of the play Purlie Victorious and was written by Ossie Davis, Philip Rose and Peter Udell with music by Gary Geld. Hasna Muhammad, daughter of Ossie Davis, is expected to participate in the Talkback, along with members of the cast and creative team. All are welcome to attend.

Saturday, March 8 - Algonquin Arts Theatre presents Asbury Short Film Concert: World's Best Short Films. (MANASQUAN, NJ) -- Asbury Shorts USA, New York City's longest running non-competitive short film showcase returns to the revered Algonquin Arts Theatre in Manasquan on Saturday, March 8, 2025 to present their national touring "44th Short Film Concert- An Evening of the World's Best Short Films."

Saturday, March 8 - Sirius Radio Broadway host Seth Rudetsky to interview and accompany Broadway star Adam Pascal at Bell Theater. (HOLMDEL, NJ) -- Adam Pascal, the original Roger from the Pulitzer Prize-winning Broadway musical Rent, is coming to Bell Theater at Bell Works in Holmdel on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 8:00pm. This one-night-only performance is part of Seth Rudetsky's Big Fat Broadway Live series, an up-close and personal mix of songs from Pascal's Broadway career, plus intimate, behind-the-scenes stories coupled with Rudetsky's funny, insightful and revealing questions.

Saturday, March 8 - State Theatre New Jersey presents Yacht Rock Gold Experience. (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey presents Yacht Rock Gold Experience on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 8:00pm. Yacht Rock Gold Experience is joined by Yacht Rock Royalty, Elliot Lurie, Lead singer of Looking Glass, singing his #1 hit, "Brandy," and other classics. Tickets range from $25-$49.

Sunday, March 9 - Grunin Center presents April Varner. (TOMS RIVER, NJ) -- Grunin Center for the Arts presents Award-Winning Jazz Vocalist and Composer April Varner on Sunday, March 9, 2025 in the Gia Maione Prima Foundation Studio Theatre. She is recognizable by her curly red hair and voice of an "old soul", often brings her listeners to another place - one long ago when the giants of jazz were still gracing the stage. Tuesday, March 4 - Morristown ONSTAGE 2025 Acts Announced. (MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- The Morris Educational Foundation (MEF) has announced the 16 acts that will perform in the 18th annual Morristown ONSTAGE fundraising event. Featuring the best amateur talent from Morristown, Morris Plains and Morris Township, the show will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at the Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC).

Tuesday, March 4 - PSO Soundtracks Talk: "Found Sounds" with Sō Percussion. (PRINCETON, NJ) -- Members of the award-winning ensemble Sō Percussion will give a talk on "Found Sounds" Tuesday, March 4, 2025, a presentation of the Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) Soundtracks Series at the Princeton Public Library. They will discuss the unique soundscapes which can be created using everyday items. The event begins at 7:00pm.

Friday, March 7 - The Newton Theatre presents Pure Prairie League. (NEWTON, NJ) -- Pure Prairie League comes to The Newton Theatre on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 8:00pm. Now in their sixth decade, Pure Prairie League continues to lead the way for the new generation of Country/Rockers such as Keith Urban, Nickel Creek, Wilco, Counting Crows and so many others that cite PPL as a major influence.

Saturday, March 8 - The Town Hall presents Judy Collins and Friends: 85 Years of Music and Protest. (NEW YORK, NY) -- The legendary Judy Collins will present a star-studded 85th birthday celebration Judy Collins and Friends: 85 Years of Music and Protest at The Town Hall on March 8, 2025. Directed by Grammy-winning songwriter and producer Russ Titelman, Judy Collins will be joined onstage by her peers and some of the young talents she inspired and helped nurture. Saturday, March 8 - The Newton Theatre presents Everclear on March 8th. (NEWTON, NJ) -- Everclear, one of the leading alternative rock bands to emerge from the '90s, comes to The Newton Theatre on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 8:00pm. The band celebrated their 30th Anniversary in recent years, and founder, vocalist and guitarist Art Alexakis has made it clear that he has no plans to slow down.

Saturday, March 8 - Princeton Symphony Orchestra To Perform with GRAMMY-Winning Sō Percussion. (PRINCETON, NJ) -- Fresh from their 2025 GRAMMY® win for Best Chamber Music/Small Ensemble Performance, Sō Percussion will appear with Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) at concerts the weekend of March 8-9, 2025. The ensemble will perform Viet Cuong's concerto for percussion quartet, Re(new)al. Edward T. Cone Music Director Rossen Milanov conducts the program which includes Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 6 in F Major, Op. 68 "Pastoral" and Carlos Simon's Four Black American Dances. Both performances are at Richardson Auditorium, on the campus of Princeton University.

Saturday, March 8 - New Jersey Youth Chorus Presents Just Us Girls. (MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- The New Jersey Youth Chorus (NJYC), a program of Wharton Arts, will present Just Us Girls on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Morristown United Methodist Church (50 South Park Place) in Morristown. The event is free. Donations can be made to support the Brooke Healey Foundation. Showtime is 4:00pm.

NJ Rep presents the World Premiere of "Make Believe". (LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- Marking the start of another extraordinary season dedicated to new voices and compelling stories, New Jersey Repertory Company (NJRep) launches its 28th season with the World Premiere of Make Believe by acclaimed playwright John Biguenet, directed by NJ Rep's Artistic Director SuzAnne Barabas. The production runs from February 13 to March 9, 2025. Make Believe is a nostalgic, haunting look back at the world of 1930's Hollywood, where larger-than-life movie stars went to great lengths to keep their secrets from coming to light.

"The Jonathan Larson Project" to Have World Premiere in NYC. (NEW YORK, NY) -- Richard Frankel, Tom Viertel, Steven Baruch, and Marc Routh proudly announce the world premiere of The Jonathan Larson Project, a new musical that celebrates the dozens of unheard songs, unfinished and unproduced musicals, and pop songs found in files and boxes when the visionary writer of RENT died suddenly at the age of 35 in 1996. Conceived by Jennifer Ashley Tepper and directed by John Simpkins, The Jonathan Larson Project features more than 20 undiscovered songs by the Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning writer.

Two River Theater presents "Dial M for Murder". (RED BANK, NJ) -- Two River Theater presents the stylish thriller that inspired a Hitchcock classic, Dial M for Murder, adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher (Scotland Road, Wait Until Dark), from the original by Frederick Knott. Directed by Drama Desk Award nominee Jenn Thompson (Little Shop of Horrors, Chains, Conflict and Women Without Men), Dial M for Murder runs from February 15 - March 9, 2025 in the Joan and Robert Rechnitz Theater.

Passage Theatre Company presents Trenton premiere of "Topdog/Underdog". (TRENTON, NJ) -- In celebration of Black History Month, Passage Theatre—the only professional theater company in New Jersey's state capital—is producing the Trenton premiere of Topdog/Underdog by Pulitzer prize-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks as part of its landmark 40th anniversary season. This production will be directed by marcus d. harvey and stars Steven St. Pierre and Anthony Vaughn Merchant respectively as brothers Lincoln and Booth. It runs from February 20th to March 9, 2025.

Luna Stage presents "A Case for the Existence of God". (WEST ORANGE, NJ) -- Luna Stage presents the NY Drama Critics' Circle award-winner for Best Play, A Case for the Existence of God by Samuel D. Hunter from February 20 - March 16, 2025. Directed by Luna Artistic Director Ari Laura Kreith, this is a heartrending yet hopeful play about two men’s parallel desires to build a secure foundation for their families.

The Summit Playhouse presents "The Crucible" by Arthur Miller. (SUMMIT, NJ) -- The Summit Playhouse presents The Crucible by Arthur Miller from February 21 - March 8, 2025. In a world where fear breeds division and truth is under siege, The Crucible remains as powerful and relevant as ever. Set during the Salem witch trials, this spellbinding drama unravels a web of hysteria, suspicion, and power that shatters lives—while revealing the courage it takes to challenge injustice.

Chatham Community Players presents the family-friendly musical, "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown". (CHATHAM, NJ) -- The Chatham Community Players invites you to "relive your childhood" with the family-friendly musical, You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown, based on the comic strip Peanuts by Charles M. Schulz, Book, Music, and Lyrics by Clark Gesner. This feel-good production will run from February 28 through March 15, 2025. Directed & choreographed by Matt Muccigrossi with music direction by Eric Van Hoven.

South Camden Theatre Company presents "Hollywood, Nebraska" by Kenneth Jones. (CAMDEN, NJ) -- South Camden Theatre Company kicks off their 2025 season with Hollywood, Nebraska by Kenneth Jones weekends from February 28 through March 16, 2025. In the play, two forty-something actresses have returned to their dying hometown in the Great Plains of Nebraska.

Music Mountain Theatre presents the family favorite musical "Fiddler on the Roof". (LAMBERTVILLE, NJ) -- Music Mountain Theatre presents 16 performances of Fiddler on the Roof from February 28 through March 23, 2025. Rich with musical hits like "Tradition," "Sunrise, Sunset," "If I Were a Rich Man," and "Matchmaker, Matchmaker," Fiddler on the Roof is the heart-warming story of life, love and laughter among fathers and daughters, husbands and wives.

Premiere Stages at Kean University Announces 2025 Bauer Boucher Playwriting Award Winners. (UNION, NJ) -- Premiere Stages, the professional theatre company in residence at Kean University, has named Kean University student Tyler Sautner (Class of '25) and alumna Megan Tobias (Class of '19) as the winners of the 2025 Bauer Boucher Playwriting Awards, named for longtime donors W. John Bauer and Nancy Boucher. Both winners received a cash prize and a one-day developmental reading of their plays with a professional cast and director.

Speranza Theatre Company presents "In Her Footsteps" - a friendly, immersive theatre experience. (JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Step into history with In Her Footsteps, a fun, family-friendly, immersive theatrical experience that brings great women from the past to life through dynamic performances, multimedia displays, and hands-on activities. Speranza Theatre Company presents In Her Footsteps weekends from March 1-30, 2025 at the Museum of Jersey City History.

RVCC Holocaust Institute Sets Show Offering Accessible Telling of Anne Frank's Story. (BRANCHBURG, NJ) -- The Institute of Holocaust & Genocide Studies at Raritan Valley Community College will present Bright Star Touring Theatre's production of The Story of Anne Frank on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at 10:00am.

Centenary Stage Company enters final weekend for "The Receptionist". (HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) -- Centenary Stage Company enters the last weekend of its run of the dark comedy, The Receptionist by Adam Bock. The play focuses on a seemingly ordinary office. Beverly, the cheerful and efficient receptionist, keeps things running smoothly—answering phones, gossiping, and managing daily tasks. But as the day unfolds, subtle cracks appear in the routine, hinting at something far more sinister lurking beneath the surface. The production will finish its run March 5-9, 2025 in the Sitnik Theatre.

Experience Passion, Betrayal and Tragic Love at CCM's Spellbinding Performance of "Romeo & Juliet". (RANDOLPH, NJ) -- Step into the world of star-crossed lovers and bitter rivalries in the theatrical production of Romeo & Juliet at County College of Morris (CCM). Gateway Playhouse to Showcase All of The Bard's Plays in "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare...". (SOMERS POINT, NJ) -- Gateway Playhouse will showcase all of William Shakespeare's 37 plays – in just 95 minutes – in the hilarious "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged/Revised/Again)" by Adam Long, Daniel Singer and Jess Winfield, who originally created the show for the Edinburgh Theater Fest in 1987. Since then, it has toured the world over, delighting audiences, whether connoisseurs of The Bard or perhaps barely remember one play from high school. This delightful show comes to the Gateway for one weekend only, March 7-9, 2025.

Bear Tavern Project presents Rodgers and Hamerstein's Classic Musical "Oklahoma!" at Kelsey Theatre. (WEST WINDSOR, NJ) -- Rodgers and Hamerstein's all-American classic musical "Oklahoma!" sweeps across the plains and onto the Kelsey Theatre stage when the Bear Tavern Project brings the show to life for eight evening and four afternoon performances, March 7-16, 2025 on Mercer County Community College West Windsor Campus.

Luna Stage presents "A Case for the Existence of God" and "Trich" - first time with two plays in rep simultaneously. (WEST ORANGE, NJ) -- For the first time ever, Luna Stage presents two plays simultaneously on its two stages, re-opening Trich in Luna 2 on March 8, while the NY Drama Critics' Circle award-winner for Best Play, A Case for the Existence of God plays through March 16, 2025 on the MainStage. Tickets for both productions are available now.

Sebastian Maniscalco To Perform in NY and NJ in March. (NEWARK, NJ) -- Renowned comedian, actor, and podcast host Sebastian Maniscalco has officially announced his 2025 "It Ain't Right" tour. Building on the extraordinary success of his 2024 run, which saw multiple sold-out shows and record-breaking performances, Maniscalco continues to make history as one of the most influential figures in comedy. The tour will add 23 new cities in 2025, including a stop at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY on Friday, March 7; Prudential Center in Newark, NJ on Saturday, March 8; and UBS Arena in Belmont Park, NY on Saturday, March 15, 2025.

Friday, March 7 - NJPAC presents comedian Preacher Lawson. (NEWARK, NJ) -- Prepare for an evening filled with laughter at New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) with the incredibly talented Preacher Lawson on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 7:00pm. Preacher Lawson, known for his infectious energy and unique comedic style, first captured the hearts of audiences as a standout performer on "America's Got Talent."

Sunday, March 9 - Debonair Music Hall presents Raanan Hershberg & Friends, ft. Eitan Levine and Eli Lebowicz. (TEANECK, NJ) -- Dovi Neuburger, in association with Black Box Studios & The Elated System, presents Pre-Purim comedy with Raanan Hershberg & Friends, ft. Wednesday, March 5 - Award-winning Documentary of Artist Art Spiegelman to Get NJ Premiere at Stockton. (GALLOWAY, NJ) -- A new documentary about the life and work of artist Art Spiegelman will get its premier screening in New Jersey on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at Stockton University. "Art Spiegelman: Disaster is My Muse" will be shown at 6:00pm in the L-112 lecture hall at Stockton's Galloway campus. The screening is sponsored by the Sara and Sam Schoffer Holocaust Resource Center.

Friday, March 7 - Next JC Fridays features: Live Entertainment, Open Art Studios, Dance Classes and More!. Sunday, March 9 - A Trenton Island Adventure: Exploring Local History with Dan Aubrey. (TRENTON, NJ) -- The hidden life and times of the river islands within the border of the capital city is the topic of a Trenton City Museum discussion on Sunday, March 9, 2025 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. The talk with accompanying photos and documents will illustrate the beauty of the islands and share recently uncovered historical facts.

Monday, March 10 - Exploring American Literature of the 1800s with Cape May Poet Laureate Sylvia Baer. (CAPE MAY, NJ) -- Cape May's Poet Laureate Sylvia Baer hosts three 1.5-hour interactive online seminars via Zoom this March that delve into American literature of the Victorian age. "The Concord Gang" on Monday, March 10, 2025 highlights Emerson, Thoreau and Alcott. "The Amherst Gang" on Monday, March 17, 2025 features Emily Dickinson and Helen Hunt Jackson. Wednesday, March 5 - Award-winning Photographer Ron Tarver to Speak at Stockton University. (GALLOWAY, NJ) -- Award-winning photographer Ron Tarver is this year's speaker at Stockton University's annual Al Gold Memorial Lecture Series on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. The lecture will begin at 2:30pm in the Campus Center Theater and is followed by a reception. Admission is free.

Novado Gallery presents "I Said What I Said" group exhibition. (JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Novado Gallery presents I Said What I Said, a group exhibition that asserts the power of artistic voice, truth, and presence. The exhibit runs from March 8 through April 18, 2025. Curated by Jerome China, the exhibit celebrates the role of artists in shaping identity and challenging societal norms through unfiltered, direct, and fearless artistic expression.
