She will be bringing her band, The Pistolas and will also perform a solo acoustic set, featuring songs from her latest album, One Guitar Woman, which was recently released on Stony Plain Records. Thursday, August 22 - Remember Jones presents "Jones Sings Jones!" at Bell Theater. (HOLMDEL, NJ) -- New Jersey soul sensation Remember Jones will present his latest show, Jones Sings Jones! celebrating the music of legendary singer and sex symbol Tom Jones, along with a 17-piece band, at Bell Theater at Bell Works in Holmdel. Performances will take place from Thursday, August 22 through Sunday, August 25, 2024.

Friday, August 23 - bergenPAC presents Dirty Deeds: The AC/DC Experience. (ENGLEWOOD, NJ) -- Bergen Performing Arts Center (bergenPAC) presents Dirty Deeds: The AC/DC Experience on Friday, August 23, 2024 at 8:00pm. An experience unlike any other...Dirty Deeds - The AC/DC experience celebrates the thunderous energy of the Bon Scott and Brian Johnson era delivering a power-packed performance that takes the audience on a journey through the story that is AC/DC.

Friday, August 23 - Jersey Arts Podcast: Richie Furay Celebrates 80 Years with a Belated Birthday Bash at SOPAC. Jersey Arts talks to music icon - singer, songwriter, and guitarist Richie Furay, who boasts a 60 year musical career, having played with acclaimed groups such as Buffalo Springfield, Poco, the Souther-Hillman-Furay Band and of course, his own solo ventures.

Saturday, August 24 - Spring-Nuts presents a Solo Performance by Adam Weiner (aka LowCut Connie) at Monmouth University. (WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- Spring-Nuts presents a special, solo performance by Adam Weiner (aka LowCut Connie) on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 8:00pm. The concert will take place at Monmouth University's Pollak Theatre. All proceeds from this event will benefit Stevie Van Zandt's TeachRock, FulFill of Monmouth County and the Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music.

Fun for the entire family, The Wag plays all the hits of the Fab Four, from the early days all the way through to their last album. The show includes 2 sets of Beatles music, costume changes, and a special opening set of Wag originals!

BUSH - Load: The Greatest Hits Tour dates announced; includes shows in Holmdel and Atlantic City. (ATLANTIC CITY, NJ) -- GRAMMY®-nominated, multi-Platinum band BUSH will celebrate its 30th anniversary with an extensive North American headline tour. Bush – Loaded: The Greatest Hits Tour will kick off on July 26 in Bend, OR and include shows at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel on August 21 and Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena in Atlantic City on August 23. Jerry Cantrell and Candlebox will be the special guests on all dates. Additional guests will be announced.

Wednesday, August 21 - Woodbridge Wednesdays presents Mary Fahl and Jesse Terry. (WOODBRIDGE, NJ) -- The Woodbridge Wednesdays Concert Series at Parker Press Park presents Mary Fahl (co-founder of October Project) with opener Jesse Terry on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 7:30pm. Admission is free.

Wednesday, August 21 - Jazz saxophonist Godwin Louis to perform and release new album at WBGO After Work Jazz Series concert. (NEWARK, NJ) -- Grammy-nominated saxophonist Godwin Louis heads to Newark for the next installment of the WBGO After Work Jazz Series, part of the powerhouse jazz station's 45th anniversary celebration. Louis will perform two concerts on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 — at 4:45pm and at 6:15pm — in the courtyard of the Newark Main Library.

Thursday, August 22 - The Newton Theatre presents An Acoustic Evening of Songs and Stories with John Oates. (NEWTON, NJ) -- The Newton Theatre presents An Acoustic Evening of Songs and Stories with John Oates on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 8:00pm. Tickets range from $59-$79.

Thursday, August 22 - White Eagle Hall presents Big Star - 50th Anniversary of "Radio City". (JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- This year marks the 50th anniversary of Radio City, the legendary sophomore from the highly influential Memphis band, Big Star. To celebrate, an all-star collective of musicians (led by the band's sole surviving original member, Jody Stephens) will perform the entire album. Joining Stephens will be some of the band's biggest fans, who have long been associated with Big Star-related projects, including Mike Mills (R.E.M.), Jon Auer (The Posies), Pat Sansone (Wilco), and Chris Stamey (The dB's). The tour comes to White Eagle Hall on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 8:00pm.

Friday, August 23 - Something Corporate brings reunion tour to Stone Pony Summer Stage on August 23rd. (ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- In June, beloved early 2000s pop-punk band Something Corporate kicked off their 21-date sold-out reunion tour which will be heading across the U.S. this summer and fall. The Out Of Office Tour – the first official cross-country tour featuring the band's five original members in over 20 years – stops in Asbury Park on Friday, August 23, 2024 at The Stone Pony Summer Stage with support from Hidden In Plain View.

Friday, August 23 - Newark's Mayor Baraka to Host '24 Hrs of Peace' on August 23-24. (NEWARK, NJ) -- Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka will host the Annual 24 Hrs of Peace event, starting Friday, August 23, 2024 at 6:00pm, and continuing to Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 6:00pm in the West Ward at South 10th Street and Central Avenue. The event is free and open to the public.

Saturday, August 24 - Haddon Township presents Summer of Love - 60s, 70s, & 80s Music Festival on August 24th. (HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ) -- Eddie Berner, of the iconic band A Flock of Seagulls, will perform along with a lineup of stellar musicians from New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, at Haddon Township's Summer of Love—60s, 70s, & 80s Music Festival. Held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 2:00pm-10:00pm at Haddon Square (along Haddon Avenue between Strawbridge and Cooper Street), Summer of Love is a groovy festival featuring music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s.

Summer Heats Up at Cape May Stage with the New Jersey Professional Premiere of "Ms. Holmes & Ms. Watson – Apt. 2B". (CAPE MAY, NJ) -- Cape May Stage presents the New Jersey professional premiere of Ms. Holmes & Ms. Watson – Apt. 2B, a fast-paced, comedic, and modern reimagining of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's famous sleuth and sidekick. Written by award-winning playwright Kate Hamill, this lively production is set to open on July 17th and runs through August 25, 2024, with shows Tuesday through Sunday nights at 8:00pm.

East Lynne Theater Company presents "Dial M for Murder". (CAPE MAY, NJ) -- East Lynne Theater Company in Cape May will produce an updated version of "Dial M for Murder" by Jeffrey Hatcher for five weeks this summer. Performances take place Wednesdays through Saturdays from July 31 to August 31, 2024 at 7:00pm.

CAT presents tales from Kate Chopin, Will Rogers, O. Henry, and Harlem. (CAPE MAY, NJ) -- A husband questions the ancestry of his wife, ghostly happenings, Will Rogers' timeless wit, O. Henry's famous twists at the end, and Harlem in the 1920’s. These are some of the upcoming tales to be told by Classic American Tales' (CAT) "Tales at the Dormer House."

Cape May Stage presents "Ms. Holmes & Ms. Watson - Apt. 2B". (CAPE MAY, NJ) -- Cape May Stage is presenting Ms. Holmes & Ms. Watson - Apt. 2B from July 17 to August 25, 2024. This fast-paced, comedic, and modern reimagining of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's famous sleuth and sidekick explores the dynamic partnership of a new Holmes and Watson as they navigate a series of exhilarating adventures.

The Theater Project presents "The Interpreter" by Joseph Vitale. (SUMMIT, NJ) -- The Theater Project, a leading incubator for rising talent and a showcase for New Jersey artists, will present award-winning playwright Joseph Vitale's thought-provoking play, The Interpreter, August 15-25, 2024 at the Oakes Center.

Scholars to Lead Audience Discussions After Performances of "The Interpreter" - A Nuremberg Trial Drama. (SUMMIT, NJ) -- ­In response to the rise of antisemitism in the United States, scholars from New Jersey universities will lead audience discussions with high-school students and adults following six performances of The Interpreter, Joseph Vitale's drama about a Nazi leader and his Jewish interpreter during the Nuremberg trials, which runs August 15–25, 2024 at the Oakes Center Theater in Summit. The Theater Project is presenting the play.

Spring Lake Theatre presents "Anastasia". (SPRING LAKE, NJ) -- Spring Lake Theatre is thrilled to announce that it will be the first community theater in New Jersey to bring the breathtaking story of Anastasia to life on stage. This production promises to be an unforgettable experience for audiences of all ages. Anastasia tells the enchanting tale of a young woman who embarks on an epic journey to discover the mystery of her past. Performances run August 15-18, and August 22-25, 2024.

First Avenue Playhouse presents "True West" by Sam Shepard. (ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ) -- First Avenue Playhouse presents True West by Sam Shepard across three weekends (August 17-18, August 23-25, and August 30-31). Brothers Austin and Lee seem like opposites. Austin is a hardworking scriptwriter and Lee is a homeless Thief. When a Hollywood producer picks Lee's idea for a 'true-to-life' western over Austin's script, the brothers turn on each other. A writing session gets ugly in this dark comedy.

The Theater League of Clifton to Hold Auditions for "The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940". (CLIFTON, NJ) -- The Theater League of Clifton will hold auditions for its main stage production of "The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940" on August 22-23 (Thursday and Friday) from 7:00pm-9:00pm at the Living Hope Presbyterian Church, 303 Maplewood Ave., Clifton (one block from Valley Road). The first rehearsal is slated for either August 28th or 29th.

Music Mountain Theatre presents "The Scarlet Pimpernel". (LAMBERTVILLE, NJ) -- Music Mountain Theatre presents The Scarlet Pimpernel, the swashbuckling adventure based on the novel by Baroness Orczy, over a three-weekend run from August 23 to September 8, 2024. The Scarlet Pimpernel is a colorful window into 18th-century French and British history.

Triple Threat Theater Productions to Hold Summer Theater Festival and Benefit Concert to Raise Funds for Rapidly-Growing Youth Drama Program. (MARLTON, NJ) -- Artistic Director and Founder Andy Boettcher has announced that Triple Threat Theater Productions will hold a Summer Theater Festival and Benefit Concert on Saturday, August 24, 2024. The purpose of the event is to raise capital toward a dedicated rehearsal space for the nonprofit educational theater company’s more than 450 students.

Friday, August 23 - Ocean Casino Resort presents Trevor Noah. (ATLANTIC CITY, NJ) -- Renowned comedian, television host, and political commentator, Trevor Noah, brings his Off the Record Tour to Ocean Casino Resort's Ovation Hall on Friday, August 23, 2024. Showtime is 9:00pm.

Saturday, August 24 - Ocean Casino Resort presents comedian Andrew Schulz. (ATLANTIC CITY, NJ) -- Stand-up comedian, actor, television producer and podcaster, Andrew Schulz, takes the stage at Ocean Casino Resort's Ovation Hall on Saturday, August 24, 2024.  He has shows at 7:00pm and 10:30pm.

EVENT PREVIEWS

(HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ) -- Breaking with the tradition of quiet fall fests full of pumpkins and apples, the Haddon Township Fall Festival extends summer vibes with amusement rides, a beer garden, rocking live bands and dancing, a wing eating contest, a dunk tank, food trucks and Disney character drop-ins. On September 14 (rain date: September 15), the Fall Festival will take over blocks and blocks of Haddon Township from the Crystal Lake Pool Complex, where JAM FEST happens, and goes for 5 blocks all the way down West Park Boulevard as part of the STREET FAIR.

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- How the United States, Cape May County, and American Admiral Ernest J. King dealt with the German U-boat menace, and the story of Germany's warfare off the coast of Cape May during World War II, is the subject of this year's lecture in the Cape May MAC (Museum+Arts+Culture) annual Lessons of History Distinguished Lecture Series.
