originally published: 09/08/2022

(WAYNE, NJ) -- The illustrious 2nd New Jersey returns to Dey Mansion Washington’s Headquarters on Saturday, September 10th. Come see how the Continental Army went about setting up camp and witness the different tasks performed by soldiers and camp followers. A variety of demonstrations will take place all day including musket drills and camp life activities.

Second NJ Day takes place from 11:00am - 4:00pm.  The event is free to attend. Click here to RSVP.

Dey Mansion Washington’s Headquarters is located at 199 Totowa Road in Wayne, New Jersey.

Under the direction of the Passaic County Board of County Commissioners, the staff at Dey Mansion are dedicated to preserving and interpreting the history of the Dey Family and the important role that their home played as General George Washington’s Headquarters during the summer and fall of 1780. Through tours, lectures, and special events the Dey Mansion promotes the exploration of life in Colonial America, the events and people of the American Revolution, and the need and importance of historic preservation.

The Dey Mansion is the property of the County of Passaic and operated by the Department of Cultural & Historic Affairs.
