(MIDDLETOWN, NJ) — From the team that brought you the award winning Off-Broadway production “Camp, A New Musical”, comes their brand-new original show, “Dealing, The Musical” - a show with a distinctively Jersey twist.
Written by playwright David J.V. Meenan, Dealing, The Musical, is set in the Red Bank area of New Jersey as we follow the lives of 15 very different High School students and take a look at their hilarious antics and realistic struggles while they navigate through the craziness of dating, school, driving, parents, siblings, loss, and everyday life. If you’ve ever been to high school, have anyone in high school or have someone getting ready to go to high school, you will quickly relate to this funny but empowering musical. Dealing, The Musical will have you leaving the theatre humming the tunes to any one of the 18 musical numbers, and their stories are moments you will not soon forget.
Some of the featured original songs are: The Next Bruce Springsteen, Friday Night in Red Bank, Broadway Lights, This Good Girl’s Bad, Prom Queen, Driving with Your Parents, Gotta Have a Button, Cheerleaders and One More Moment.
Cast includes Sam Cusson as Damon, Will Lawson as Tommy, the soccer star, Macy Swanton as Jill, the bad girl, Sean Busk and Maria Guerrero as Ziggy and Harmony, the theatre kids, Matt Brown is Felix the wanna be rock star, Grace Sweeney is Sarah his groupie. Jay Lazen as Enigma who is looking to find a place to fit in and befriends Winnie played by Jessica Ardolina, who stresses about everything from boys to auto texting the wrong texts. Melanie Creen as Patty is too smart for her own good and has inevitable trouble with the cheerleaders; RJ Vandenbrouck as Billy, Casey Bracken as Brit’ney and Julia Szostek as Bambi. Kristian Thaxton as Mike, and Gigi Failla as Lisa round out the unique ensemble.
"Dealing, The Musical" premieres at the Middletown Arts Center with performances on Friday, August 11 at 7:00pm, Saturday, August 12 at 7:00pm, and Sunday, August 13 at 3:00pm. Tickets are $30 for adults and $25 for students. Tickets are available for purchase online.
The Middletown Arts Center is located at 36 Church Street in Middletown, New Jersey (next to the Middletown train station). Free parking is available onsite with additional free parking available in the station-metered lot on weekday evenings after 6:00pm and on weekends.
