(RED BANK, NJ) -- Count Basie Center for the Arts presents Matt Mathews on Friday, May 31, 2024 at 8:00pm. Hailing from Birmingham, Alabama, Matt is a stand-up comedian, social media star, farmer, and multi-award-winning boudoir photographer.
During the coronavirus pandemic, Matt skyrocketed into the social media stratosphere through his hilariously raw social posts and side-splitting short-form videos–earning him over 4 million followers on TikTok and over 1.5 million followers on Instagram. Widely known and celebrated for his relatability and situational humor, Matt discusses a variety of topics and personal experiences in his stand-up, including his daily life of living on a farm, growing up as a gay man in Alabama, his career as a boudoir photographer, relationships, and taboo sexual encounters. Matt also brings his ever-popular “Confessions with Matt” video series to the live stage, where he provides a real-time comedic take on audience members who voluntarily spill their deepest, darkest secrets.
After a whirlwind start to 2023 that saw him selling out renowned comedy clubs and theaters from coast to coast, Matt continues his debut headlining comedy tour, When That Thang Get Ta Thang’n, through 2024, including new international tour dates.
