Broadway Theatre of Pitman presents 52nd Street: Billy Joel Tribute

(PITMAN, NJ) -- New Jersey’s own Danny Vechesky brings his Billy Joel tribute show to the Broadway Theatre of Pitman on Sunday, October 16th. Danny V’s 52nd Street Band is a full-scale, 7-piece, live concert-show, re-creating the performances of arguably the greatest rock and roll keyboard player ever — the “Piano Man”… Billy Joel.  

In 1974 Danny was a high school student and had the life changing opportunity to meet Billy Joel when he worked as crew on his Piano Man concert tour at a date in Pennsylvania. He was so blown away by the concert that he realized he also wanted to perform Billy’s music. By the time he attended Glassboro University (Now Rowan), he had learned a good number of Billy Joel songs. He began performing at coffee houses on campus, dormitory events and the on campus pub the Ratskeller, earning him the nickname "Dan the Piano Man" long before the tribute band mania of the last few years.

Touring nationally for over 30 years and counting, 52nd Street is the world’s longest running tribute to Billy Joel, earning a reputation of rocking “A”-List venues from Hard Rock Cafe’s to AC & Vegas Casinos to NYC Holiday Parades and Concert festivals all around the USA. 52nd Street was even honored to play before Billy Joel himself at his past touring pre-concert parties like Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Arena and NYC Broadway show smash, Movin’ Out!

Led by the fantastically talented pianist, singer and showman, Dan Vechesky (Danny V), the 52nd Street Band is comprised of top NYC metro-area musicians driven in detail to re-create Billy’s music and live stage show in both vision and sound. An early disciple of Billy’s, since his 1970’s college circuit era, a young “Piano Dan” met the “Piano Man” while working on his stage crew, inspiring him to become a piano centered rock band leader as well, and eventually create 52nd Street to offer the best of Billy Joel, covering his entire career from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s like nobody else but the Piano Man himself!
