(BORDENTOWN, NJ) -- The family friendly play Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will be presented Saturday, November 19th at 2:00pm and 6:30pm at the Bordentown Performing Arts Center. This production will be performed by the award-winning theatre students of Bordentown Regional High School. Cookies and milk will be served following the 2:00pm performance.
When young Charlie wins a golden ticket to tour the mysterious Wonka Chocolate Factory, it's the chance of a lifetime! Along with the other winners--Veruca Salt, Violet Beauregarde, Mike Teavee, and Augustus Gloop--Charlie encounters a magical world full of amazement, innovation, sugary treats, Oompa-Loompas and, of course, Mr. Willy Wonka himself. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory brings the classic children’s book to life onstage for the whole family to enjoy.
Tickets are $5 and can be purchased in advance at www.seatyourself.biz/brhs. Tickets will also be sold at the door. This play is suggested for children ages four through ten.
Featured in the cast are Bordentown Regional High School seniors Ray Hollopeter as Narrator 1, Ryan Kaufman as Charlie, Anna Madden as Mrs. Beauregarde, Olivia McGlone as Violet, Olivia Olaff as Veruca, Jo Russo as Mr. Salt and Jake Sfraga as Mike; juniors Aidan Bramley as Grandpa Joe, Sal Carr as Grandpa George and Mr. TeeVee, Seren Dagli as Grandma Josephine, Jaida Hitt as Mrs. Bucket, and Luke Williams as Willy Wonka, sophomores Alara Demir as Mrs. TeeVee, Ryan Haje as Augustus, Bo Lugo as Mr. Bucket, and freshmen Brynn Bowyer as Narrator 2, Rylie Evans as Mrs. Gloop, Ceilidh Manigrasso as Grandma Georgina, Atlas Planas-Borgstrom as Narrator 3, and Gracie Tyler as Mrs. Salt and Jayde Rios, Finn Conrot, Gabriella Cuccia, and Rhylan Phillips as Oompa Loompas.The play is directed by seniors Candace Farrell and Defnenur Gumus.
Looking to get some holiday shopping done? The BRHS Theatre Club presents the 2022 Parents' Night Out on Saturday, November 19th. From 6:00pm-9:00pm, children will enjoy a live performance of the play Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and snacks and games after the performance with the cast. Bordentown Regional High School’s 2012 musical, Legally Blonde, was awarded the prestigious Greater Philadelphia Cappie Award for Outstanding Musical. Over the past decade, the Greater Philadelphia Cappie Awards have honored BRHS Theatre performances with sixty nominations and seventeen awards. The theatrical performances of BRHS have also been honored with awards and nominations from the New Jersey State Thespian Festival and the New Jersey Theatre Night Awards. Bordentown Regional High School is home to International Thespian Society Troupe 6803.
