(NEW YORK, NY) -- Catch three exciting, critically acclaimed blues/rock artists at Berlin Under A in New York City on Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 7:00pm-10:00pm. The lineup includes Debra Devi, Danielia Cotton, and The Outcrops.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Tickets are available for purchase online. Berlin is located at 25 Avenue A (2nd Street, downstairs) in New York City.
THE OUTCROPS - 7:00pm. The Outcrops play “a refreshing fusion of roots, soul, blues, funk and psychedelic rock,” says The Aquarian. Led by Cassidy Rain on guitar and vocals, and Bryan Schroeder on lead guitar, The Outcrops range from gritty blues to upbeat Americana.
The Outcrops have opened for artists like Three Dog Night, Alexis P. Suter, Kat Wright, and King Solomon Hicks. Their debut album, Peace of Mind, “shows that this young band cut their teeth on the music that influenced them, but they bring a fresh and cool new feeling to their music,” says Blues Blast magazine.
DANIELIA COTTON - 8:00pm. Danielia Cotton is an indie-rock artist with “a voice soulful enough to fill a revival tent” (New York Times), and country roots. "Danielia's singing has the raw emotional power of Janis Joplin and the swagger of the Rolling Stones Let It Bleed,” says Philadelphia Daily News, adding, “Her songwriting places her among the top new musical storytellers."
Cotton plays homage to her roots with her stunning cover of African-American country artist Charley Pride’s 1971 hit “Kiss an Angel Good Morning.” Cotton’s version is surging on Triple-A radio, as the lead single for her upcoming EP, Charley’s Pride: Songs from a Black Cowboy Vol. I.
DEBRA DEVI - 9:00pm. Debra Devi plays "dreamy blues-rock and blistering psychedelic jams" (Relix) driven by her soulful voice and expressive guitar playing. American Blues Scene calls Devi “one of today's top female blues/rock guitarists,” comparing her to Samantha Fish and Susan Tedeschi. Devi’s live EP, Jamification Station Vol. 1, reached #5 on the Relix/Jambands Top 30 Radio Chart, staying in the Top 30 for three months.
Devi has opened for Joan Osborne, Jesse Malin, Fantastic Cat, Willie Nile, Ana Popovic, Sarah Shook & the Disarmers and more. She’s a popular draw at blues festivals from Memphis to Montana. Devi is also the author of The Language of the Blues: From Alcorub to Zuzu (foreword by Dr. John).
