Lazlo, founder of BlowUpRadio.com (an online radio station based around New Jersey artists), shines a light on some of the many new releases from NJ based musicians each week with this column. This week Lazlo takes a look at releases by Linda & the Losers, Katfish Earl, Old Twins, and Molly Ringworm.
Linda & the Losers - "Demo '23". Do like fast bursts of raw punk rock energy with infectious riffs? Then you must check out Linda & the Losers' "Demo '23". 5 songs in 7 minutes, including a sped up take on Kiss's "Strutter", equals awesomeness!
Katfish Earl - "Live At Jimmy's". Recorded on May 21st, 2022, "Live At Jimmy's" showcases Katfish Earl's punk infused rock & roll. Songs like, "Road To Utah" even bring a punk sensibility to Americana. Good stuff!
Old Twins - "Nothings Going Nowhere". Old Twins is Gabe Chiarello and Ricky Kuczynski (both from the band Sink Tapes). On their debut album, "Nothings Going Nowhere", they have songs that combine Americana/Folk with Alt-Rock, for some excellent mid-tempo tunes.
Molly Ringworm - "Down/Out". Molly Ringworm's latest single as a real 90's indie-alterna-rock feel to me, with a chorus that hanging around long after I finished listening to the tune. That's a good thing! (*Note: song will be released on June 13th).
That's all for this week.
