(HOLMDEL, NJ) -- Axelrod Performing Arts Center is presenting five exciting summer concerts on the outdoor deck at Bell Works in Holmdel. The series includes Williams Honor, Motor City Revue, Soul Celebration, Ladies Night: Great Women of Song, and a Hank Williams 100th Birthday Bash with Pat Guadagno and his Lonesome Cowboys.
On Sunday, July 9, the country duo Williams Honor will make their Bell Works debut. Singer/songwriter Reagan Richards and songwriter/producer Gordon Brown will be joined by their full 7-piece band. Voted Best Band on the Jersey Shore from radio listeners at 94.3 The Point, Williams Honor mixes traditional and modern country along with their own Jersey roots, creating a unique sound they call Jersey Country. Williams Honor has toured nationally and shared the stage with countless greats, including opening for Bon Jovi at Madison Square Garden.
“Can’t Wait 2B Ashamed!”, the lead radio single from their new album, “eX,” is the theme of their Bell Works concert, with songs about the good, bad and the ugly of a breakup.
“We plan to shout it from the rooftop, literally!” said Richards.
“After just coming off CMA Fest, NBC, FOX Nashville appearances and the Barefoot Country Music Festival, we are ready to kick off this hometown summer area performance with a show that will be one to remember,” said Brown.
Motor City Revue returns to Bell Works on Sunday, July 23, back by popular demand after their rousing, crowd-pleasing performance last year. This 13-piece band covers popular and rare Motown and Stax hits, plus rock and soul classics. Although there are many bands that cover Motown tunes, few strive to match the vocal harmonies and instrumental mix that distinguished the original recordings.
Get ready for a Soul Celebration on Sunday, August 13 featuring powerhouse vocalists JaQuita May, Layonne Holmes and Khadijah Mohammed. Soul Celebration is an homage to the songs and singers that have touched our lives through the decades. The night will be filled with R&B and more from your favorite soulful artists from the ‘70s to the present.
Sunday, August 27 is Ladies Night: Great Women of Song. Jazz pianist extraordinaire Dr. Art Topilow is joined by acclaimed vocalists Nicole Zuraitis and Charenee Wade in a tribute to the greatest female vocalists of all time, including Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Lena Horne, Billie Holliday, Judy Garland, Sarah Vaughan and many more. The band consists of vocalist Danny Bacher (sax), Gary Mazzaroppi (bass) and Dan Pugach (drums).
On Sunday, September 10, Pat Guadagno and his Lonesome Cowboys present a Hank Williams 100th Birthday Bash. Guadagno will be joined by Norman Seldin, Jackson Pines, PK Lavengood, Cranston Dean, Michael Patrick and Gary Oleyar to pay tribute to the great Hank Williams, one of the most influential American singers of all time. In his short professional career, Williams recorded 55 singles that reached the Top 10 including iconic hits like "Your Cheatin' Heart," "Hey, Good Lookin'" and "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry."
“I'm looking forward to honoring the undisputed King of Country Music, and I’m wrangling an all-star lineup to do it right!” said Guadagno.
