(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- art629 Gallery will hold an opening reception for their latest exhibit, "City By The Sea", on Friday, September 15, 2023 from 7:00pm to 10:00pm.  This exhibit showcases the unique perspectives of local artists on the vibrant city of Asbury Park. Experience the rich history and diversity of this beloved community through a celebration of its people, art, and music. At the opening reception you can meet the talented artists and musicians who represent Asbury Park.

This dynamic and engaging exhibit celebrates all of Asbury Park. From its iconic waterfront buildings to the west side, this city has a unique and fascinating story to tell. Our exhibit features an array of artwork that beautifully brings Asbury Park to life, depicting buildings, landmarks, and people through photography, paintings, collages, and more.

"We're showing everything from portraits of current Asbury Park residents to Bruce Springsteen to mermaids. We have art representing the original Asbury Lanes and the current Carousel building," says art629 curator Brittany James. "Whether you're a longtime resident of Asbury Park or a visitor just discovering its wonders, we invite you to come explore this captivating exhibit and discover all that this city has to offer."

Featured artists include Dean Adams, Donna Rubin, Eleanor James, Jim Twerell, Jude Harzer, Judi Hull, Kamelia DeSoucey, Lois White, Michelle Renee Bernard, M.C. O'Connor, Quasonna Moore, Robert Piersanti, Rupa Das Gupta, Steve Miller, and Tom White. 

There will be live jazz music by Mike Noordzy and Friends.

art629 Gallery is located at 629 Cookman Ave in Asbury Park, New Jersey. The gallery is dedicated to the exhibition of fine contemporary art and their objective is to give all artists a voice. They believe in the power of art to connect people and ideas, and they strive to bring new perspectives to the region. At art629, they provide a space for artists to create and explore their passion through painting classes, life drawing, and private art lessons. 

art629 was founded by Patrick Schiavino and has become a hub for established and emerging artists to showcase their creativity and connect with art enthusiasts from all over the world. They have hosted numerous exhibitions and events, and have collaborated with various organizations to promote the arts in our community. Brittany James joined the gallery in 2015 as manager, curator, and instructor of painting and life drawing classes.

(HOLMDEL, NJ) -- SiriusXM radio host Seth Rudetsky is bringing Seth's Big Fat Broadway LIVE! concert series to Bell Theater in Holmdel on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 8:00pm. Rudetsky's guest is Broadway's Sierra Boggess (The Little Mermaid, The Phantom of the Opera). This up-close and personal concert series is a mix of the greatest hits from the Boggess' Broadway career plus intimate, behind-the-scenes stories, coupled with Rudetsky's funny, insightful and revealing questions.
