AH Arts presents "Two for the Show"

originally published: 09/29/2022

(ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ) -- The Atlantic Highlands Arts Council (AHArts) presents the exhibit "Two for the Show" in their main gallery and street level window. Mike Quon and Colin Goodall team up for the first time in a special show that runs from October 8 to November 12, 2022.

The exhibit features Mike's signature colorful freestyle approach to art, paired with Colin's distinctive and thought-provoking mathematical art and decorative painting. In a show offering two different styles, Mike and Colin agree that color is of paramount importance in their work.

Mike Quon grew up in sunny vibrant southern California as the son of a Disney animator. His style is bold, vibrant, and color-drenched. Mike studied under Abstract Expressionist painter, Richard Diebenkorn, and Pop artist, Ed Ruscha. After a successful career in advertising and graphic design, he transitioned into painting and fine art.

Colin Goodall is originally from Wales. His work is driven by color, geometry, patterns, and mathematics, inviting hands-on interaction. Through his career, Colin was motivated by the forms of things, from cell-level patterns of plant growth (PhD), to statistics of shapes, to projective geometry and statistical graphics. He was on the faculty at Princeton University and later moved on to AT&T (Bell) Labs in NJ, which he left in 2019 to focus further on decorative painting and mathematical art.
