(TENAFLY, NJ) -- Acc gallery presents an invitational exhibition Min K. Lee solo show under the title Exhibition Title: "Floating" from October 26 to November 9, 2024. Floating –– Nature; Observing and reinterpreting shapes and lines from nature, exploring fluid self-consciousness within them.

My Floating — Nature works in this exhibition is rooted from her video and installation works “Swaying in the Power” series from a few years ago. In that series, She tried to express the essence of an object and its relationship with the environment that affects it through leaves swaying in the wind. Her interest in the interaction between each object and the surrounding environment is ultimately about finding the essence of the object.

She approached it more pictorially in these paintings. Fundamentally, the characteristics of something that we see - visually appealing objects such as flower petals or tree branches in my work - create different forms even with the same shape and show different feelings even with the same color. The objects expressed through the composition of leaves that sway subtly and the shape of tree branches that extend to an unknown location, react to the environment and also make gestures that make their own voices within itself.

This object's voice, that is, the object's identity, was explored in order to express the gestures it presents on the canvas through differences in shape, line, color, and light. She may have wanted to talk about the object's essence, its existential self through the potential changing form of the object, the abstract mass that can be inferred from that form, the movement of the line, and the subtle changes that are similar yet different.

Also, this movement is reminiscent of the stream of unconscious thoughts that are constantly changing and unsettled, as if floating. Through the experience of this mutual relationship, the object changes, and dialectically, it is not the object that She initially thought of, and she is not the person that she initially expected.
