Pushcart Players Launches 50th Season
 

Pushcart Players, New Jersey's award-winning touring theater for family audiences, launches the 2024-25 season of musical productions and in-classroom educational programs. Founded in 1974, Pushcart is celebrating 50 years of stirring up serious fun for young people nationwide.

 



Centenary Stage to hold Auditions for "A Christmas Carol"
 

(HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) -- Centenary Stage Company, a professional not for profit theater company located on the campus of Centenary University in Hackettstown NJ, will be holding an open call (AEA & Non-union welcome) for their upcoming production of "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens, Music by Alan Menken, Lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, and Book by Lynn Ahrens and Mike Ockrent. This production will be produced under an AEA SPT 4 contract, and both AEA members and non-union actors will be seen. Auditions will be held on Friday, September 27th from 6:00pm – 10:00pm and Saturday, September 28th from 1:00pm – 5:00pm with a dance call taking place from 4:00pm – 5:00pm.

 



Seth Rudetsky hosts Broadway Concert with Sierra Boggess at Bell Theater in Holmdel on Saturday
 

(HOLMDEL, NJ) -- SiriusXM radio host Seth Rudetsky is bringing Seth's Big Fat Broadway LIVE! concert series to Bell Theater in Holmdel on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 8:00pm. Rudetsky's guest is Broadway's Sierra Boggess (The Little Mermaid, The Phantom of the Opera). This up-close and personal concert series is a mix of the greatest hits from the Boggess' Broadway career plus intimate, behind-the-scenes stories, coupled with Rudetsky's funny, insightful and revealing questions. The series continues in the fall with Adam Pascal, J. Harrison Ghee and Krysta Rodriguez.

 



American Theater Group to present "My Italy Story" and "Purlie" in 2024-25 Season
 

(RAHWAY, NJ) -- American Theater Group (ATG), a professional regional theater company in Central NJ, will present the endearing My Italy Story by NJ playwright Joseph Gallo as its 2024-25 Season Opener, followed by the exhilarating and Tony Award-winning musical Purlie written by Ossie Davis, Philip Rose and Peter Udell with music by Gary Geld.

Xian Zhang announces appointment to music director of Seattle Symphony while remaining music director of New Jersey Symphony
 

​​​​​​​(NEWARK, NJ) -- Music Director Xian Zhang announced on Thursday, September 5, 2024, that she will become the music director of Seattle Symphony starting in the 2025–26 season and will continue as music director of New Jersey Symphony. For the 2025–26, 2026–27 and 2027–28 seasons Zhang will be music director of both New Jersey Symphony and one of the top orchestras in the nation, Seattle Symphony. In the 2024–25 season, Zhang will take the music director designate title with Seattle Symphony.

American Repertory Ballet presents "Wonderment"
 

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- American Repertory Ballet's 2024-2025 season opens with Wonderment, a program sure to delight both audiences new to ballet and aficionados alike. Presented at the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center (NBPAC) on Friday, October 18 through Sunday, October 20, 2024, Wonderment is a mixed bill of four unique and exciting dance works: Antony Tudor's Little Improvisations, Lar Lubovitch's Something About Night, the Swan Lake "Black Swan Pas de Deux and Coda," and the world premiere of a new ballet choreographed by Ethan Stiefel, ARB's Artist in Residence.

Celebrating Style and Spirit: African American Museum Unveils Special Exhibition on Women's Fashion in the Black Church
 

(SKILLMAN, NJ) -- On September 20, 2024, the Stoutsburg Sourland African American Museum (SSAAM) will have an Opening Reception for The Head that Wears the Crown, a special exhibition on Black women's headwear from slavery to freedom.
